Luca, your opinions, and feelings expressed are absolutely valid and have been shared by many here over the years (myself included), although most have likely stopped reading/posting on TM because they have moved on for these same reasons.

My frustrations were from dealing with Morgan's senior leadership, and not a dealer, around my own service issues and their associated apathy. That past is well documented in many old threads here, with a little searching, so I’ll not dredge more.

I agree that hearing, "they all do that" or, "that's [breaking down] part of the experience" should not go unquestioned either (Stockholm Syndrome?).

I'll also guess that you're in California from my own experience in dealing with a Morgan dealer there.

By the time I sold my M3W each mile I was able to drive in it cost me over $200us. The saying 'in for a pence, in for a pound' kept resonating as the invoices accrued, as was the irony of the saying’s origin; eventually I 'cut bait' (to use a different saying).

I'll also admit that if I was not able to find an ACE 3-wheeler, I may even still own that M3W.

Good luck Luca, with whatever path you take...

The dealer in California told me that he would not work for warranty wages and charge extra for any warranty work. Swell, great business model.

Judging by the feedback I'm getting, it seems that's the way many dealers feel because of the restrictive policies and limited support provided by Morgan.

Makes it hard for the dealers to support a customer and the potential customer finds it hard to justify the purchase once they understand the issues and how much attention the Morgan range requires.....

Important question....

Yes, because the Lemon Law may be relevant

I think so too. I'm in the US. I had absolutely no intention of lemoning the car, but they actually might be trying to run out the clock, if you can believe it. Now that I've been ghosted for the time being, it's something to think about. I wasn't blind to some of the problems these cars had. One of the main reasons I bought new was the full 30 month warranty with written assurances from the dealer before ("quality is better than ever"), at delivery ("don't worry, we're not like that"), and in the days after that any and all problems would be resolved on a "priority" basis and to my satisfaction in light of supposedly improved Morgan quality control. I could have saved $20000 or more buying one like new with barely any miles on it--mine was already dirty and well on the way to 100 miles anyway (they told me only 37, including 10 miles they say was "test driving"). A used one would have probably seemed more new. And by the way, the car was supposed to be shipped entirely by individual container, but there are questions about that too.

The turn signal bracket has since broke off causing even more damage to the cerakote; a steering boot was torn in two, possibly by a dislodged rack bushing; the parking brake light is malfunctioning; and there is something loose under the shifter that knocks occasionally. And what initially was a tiny1-2 mm crack under the screw adjacent to the cushions on the inside side panel has expanded (predictably, as I explained in the emails I sent them early on) to about 1.5", straddling the screw. The screw itself is beat up, so I'm guessing it was over torgued when they apparently molested that entire area of the car in search of the nasty rattle, which they preemptively blamed on the upholstery being "tight" (???) even before I got in the car. You can plainly see the spot in the armrest where the wonky frozen screw was once properly seated in the finishing washer, but they won't confirm or deny they messed with anything. I've asked them at least three times if and why they needed to remove the upholstery, but can't get a straight answer. I mean they obviously knew the car was faulty, but once I took it it's been all denials and begrudging promises to fix, like they were being put out.

The nasty rattle it looks like they were chasing is more or less under control, and I managed to resolve some of the original problems myself, such as the artifacts in the paint from careless prep and the visible scratches/pitting along the top of the windscreen; and some stuff I just let go. In the meantime I was able to tape the bracket into position to keep on driving for a while, but after only a few months and 2000 miles of "the Morgan experience," the is car totally out of commission and support is nowhere to be found. They will have to fix everything in line with their promises and representations, and of course the warranty I PAID FOR as part of the purchase price. It wasn't free and I'm not just going away--no matter what. The reluctance of Morgan dealers in the United States to handle warranty work should be Morgan's problem, not mine or any other customer's . And really those who are actually suggesting I should have known better than to think Morgan would be quick to honor the warranties backing their $60000 or $160000 products are part of the problem. Why offer the warranty then if they have no intention of honoring it? To actively defraud their customers?

I won't name the dealership because I'm still hoping to resolve the problem amicably and potentially remain a Morgan customer. Maybe there's a legitimate reason they haven't gotten back to me and I've misinterpreted the delay. That's possible. But f they give me any more bs and force me to go legal, I will name the dealer and make sure everyone on the planet knows about it. For now who would be the best person to contact at the factory?

Thanks very much

I have been following your saga, even though I have no experience of 3-wheelers. That statement fills me with sadness for the demise of customer service. For god's sake somebody from MMC must read these comments, so just do something ! If you don't, the proud history of Morgan and the future of the brand look, at best, seriously compromised.

It doesn't help when Morgan loyalists are afraid to rock the boat. Why should Morgan justify the price when there are people will take any junk they sell them and convince themselves it was totally worth it like a battered wife? The others are "managed" by doing the absolute minimum to avoid lawsuits and keep them quiet, especially on social media. No one should have to apologize or pledge allegiance to Morgan in fear of offending the gallery for speaking to his own experience. If you've pay $60000 or $150000 for a brand new car with a warranty and the promise of dedicated craftsmanship and fine engineering, it shouldn't be your problem six months later. That's not serious.

I've heard it alluded to in the past that there are a few from the company that occasionally look at the forum (not including the fabulous tour guides smile ), but in the four years I've been a member, I don't recall seeing any form of official input here. To be honest it doesn't surprise me - it's just a privately owned forum used by enthusiasts of the Morgan marque - it's not even linked to the MSCC in any official format. Fairly usual practice - I used to be senior admin/moderator on a large Land Rover forum with over 100,000 members, but we never had any input or contact from Land Rover themselves.

Thank you, 3Gs. I very much appreciate it. Stockholm Syndrome is right. I'm actually not in California, but I do know I'm not the first with concerns about my dealer. At this point I'm not surprised to hear you had a poor experience with a California dealer. Morgan might have a problem with its US operation more generally. I can tell you they won't get fer far selling $150000 cars to Americans according to "they all do that" service standards, especially these days.

Luca, I hate to say it again but this behaviour from Morgan sounds all too familiar and it's still going on 10 years after my experience
I suspect you are going to have to dig in - SO,

1) Do some investigation into your Federal & State consumer laws
2) Get competent legal and or automotive advice - This proved decisive in my case
3) Get everything in front of Morgan and the dealer IN DETAIL and IN WRITING, and finally
4) Be reasonable, clear & concise, and in the words of Winston Churchill, NEVER GIVE UP......
