Could be coming from the rollover valve
Do you mean the fuel pump impact shut off actuator? No is the answer. These are definitely metal sheet to metal rattles. I actually think there are two. One is the overly long bolt on the outboard seat belt mount. The other one is up underneath the passengers side (RHS on my LHD Car) dashboard. The second is more of a resonance than a rattle. Tracking down the second is a two person job and as I am on my own in France at the moment, it will have to wait until next year. Wilson

My brother has one on order. I rather rudely asked him if he had seen an optician recently.

Wilson [/quote] I do hope he enjoys it as much as you have yours, post chassis traumas. I find the Super3 a bit of a curates egg.

First drive of the year today (to get MOT). As soon as I started the beastie I recognised a rattle that I've been living with for literally years. It sounds like it's either eminating from the pedal box or the steering column cowl. Thinking it was about time I did something about it, I held a length of hose to my ear and poked it around the footwell. It was clear fairly quickly that the sound was coming from where the ash frame was rubbing against the upper surface of the chassis. So, I carefully jacked up the body on that side (to slightly increase the gap) and wedged in a piece of 2mm thick mdf. I'm delighted to report that the rattle has now gone (after all these years). If ever the body comes off the chassis, I will make sure to place a rubber seal between the chassis and frame but in the meantime the bit of mdf will have to do! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/03/23/Rattle---1.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2026/03/23/Rattle---2.jpeg) Car is June 2012 so has the early body/chassis attachment points which were improved later in production.

Bunny, I've got some nice 3-4mm thick slightly compressible black closed cell foam that would be perfect for that
If you're going to Curborough in June for the MTWC event let me know & I'll bring you some

I think one of my many rattles is coming from the same area on my M3W on the same side, which is passenger on my LHD car. I will see if I can get a bit of old rubber floor mat between the body and the chassis. When I have the boot floor out later this year to fit the new ATR coil spring/shocks, I will also investigate the worst rattle from around where the roll hoop goes through the body.

Later cars have a U shaped rubber seal fitted to the body edge here along entire length both sides.
