Everyone seems to focus on cost of insurance, what about service and results after a claim? Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Also sometimes you don`t.. I have often expressed the same sentiments as those quoted... I have been with the same Morgan specialist broker for 20 years, and very fortunately I have not had to claim, but would not recommend them though they have handled taking my money over the years in a very mannerly way...(-:

I have also read of a Morgan owner who had to put a lot of effort into avoiding his Morgan specialist broker (who may have recently sold out to a larger company) writing off his Morgan. My guess is that the owner of the damaged Morgan expected more of a specialist service for what is his special car, and his expectations seem not to have been met, resulting in the owner having to go to some length to save his car, which I am pleased to report he managed to do.

Gott and Wynne, £80,000 agreed value, 5000 miles a year, £522.00 a year.
Underwritten by Equity Red Star and a specialist Morgan product.
If the car is written off then the car is available to purchase at scrap value, I understand.

Gott and Wynn wanted £726 and a tracker ,they insured my Roadster for the past two years .
Same underwriters as Heritage so it makes you wonder what’s going on .

I should add that I have no problems with my broker, the only reason not to name and recommend them is that fortunately for me I have no idea of the way they might handle a claim..

I am with LV £220 a year for a 2017 Plus 4 with full business use 10k miles per year. Had to do a claim earlier this year with 3rd party having admitted fault but their insurance company refusing to speak to me. I handed it over to LV, we had a 1 minute conversation as to where to get it repaired & they agreed that I could send it to Techniques without any argument.
I understand that the initial estimate with photos was refused by LV, they sent an assessor to my home to inspect the car & having viewed it he immediately changed his mind & approved it.
As the 3rd party had admitted liability LV didn't take any excess from me.

All in all I couldn't really fault LVs handling of the claim.

Gott & Wynne require a tracker if the car has an agreed value over £80,000. Although they use ERS as the underwriters, as to Heritage, the details of the policy are not quite the same.

Although I didn't need to do so I fitted the Tracker recommended by Morgan (Global Telemetrics) and installed in all the CX cars. It works VERY well, as I found out early on when I forgot to press the button on the key card before driving. As soon as the car stopped moving i got a phone call. Another plus is that using the phone App whilst it was at Morgan I could see every movement, times, distance and maximum speed. Another plus is that it monitors battery voltage, given the car's past history this is important.

I'm interested to see that G&W, Headley and, apparently, Heritage all use ERS as the underwriter. I've been with RH for both my classics for the last couple of years. They would appear to be the "retail" version of ERS, they even answer the phone ERS.

I know the brokers all specify they own bespoke policies, but I'd suggest a quote from RH is worth considering: rhspecialistinsurance.co.uk

Just one caution given that both Headley and G&W changed underwriters this year. Well worth checking a couple of weeks after renewal that your car shows as insured on the Motor Insurance Database. Could save you some time - check out askmid.com When I checked mine, it wasn't showing as insured. Hopefully, my phone call to the broker has gotten this corrected.
