(moved from the Sales Forum, which is not a place for discussion to take place, to here, so that you can get the advice you have asked for - TM)

Although this really isn't an advert as such, I would like opinions on it as I have been advertising my Roadster all summer with absolutely no interest, is it the colour of the car, price, my script? I have been nibbling away at the price from £35k. I'm going to take all the adverts down this weekend, then I will in the spring have the car serviced and MOTd and try again, but constructive criticism would be welcomed first.

Advert

Cheers

Ian

Not something I'd be in the market to buy, but for me it is a 'marmite' colour. There'll be someone out there that loves it, but might take longer than a more conventional dark blue/dark green/red/white.

Might be the price, maybe. Berrybrook have one for 29995...more miles than yours but they presumably offer a guarantee...?
You could keep an eye on that one to see how quickly it sells?

Looks well o.k. to me. Think pricing now is pretty good especially as it has SSL upgrades. Maybe would ditch the close up photos of shiny bits…i.e steering wheel and chassis covers pics as they do it no favours.
I have no experience of spending that sort of money on a car as a private buy, without warranty. It would make me a little nervous. I guess though that some people do, otherwise auto trader etc would not exist.
Is it possible to purchase an insurance backed warranty for a few £hundred?
Another alternative would be to place it with a dealer on commission…the 3k you have already knocked off would probably have covered the costs of doing that?
Good luck as I think it really ought to sell.

Observations, not being critical….

Ditch piccies with tonneau
Tidy up folded hood
Get rid of black mat and glasses
Push drivers head rest down

Colour, I like it but this is very subjective. My car is silver which I know many may not like.

Nothing is really wrong. Best of luck

It seems a keen price to me but I think the market has really slowed lately. I like the colour but that might be the issue.

As you have had it adverised all summer with "absolutely no interest" would indicate the price is too high for the current market conditions which will probably only get worse in the near term. The colour is special and will limit the cars appeal to the wider customer base, when market conditions improve there will be a flood of cars for sale which will also put pressure on price.

In France it would be just like a BRG one here.

One thought my 2006 S1 had the higher road tax. If it is the lower rate that might also entice people, from memory £280 ish vs £600.
