been looking at inner side screen panels that a/whites do tempted to have a go at making my own cant be that hard . Any one else got experience of doing this

I am assuming you mean the padding and leather trim that is applied to the area below the windows.
No experience but have heard of others who have found that it then becomes much more difficult to get them in the bag and slide into the rear carrier slot. So, if DIY, don’t be over-generous with the padding!

Here's a view of my AW leather infills if it helps. Also provided by them are leather door pulls with plastic base.



To achieve Shaun's level of expertise is well above my pay grade. Note I have seen versions by other leathercraft folk that pad out the whole area of extra leather but this precludes resting of elbow on door top.

ETA: it's a little more of a squeeze but can still get side panels into bag.

I have the AW ones. No issue with the sidescreen bag at all

I prefer the look of the Richard Thorne ones, they hide the fixings and they have more padding
