I suppose a DHC style, with integral windscreen, better aerodynamics and shut lines, wind-up windows and possibly an enclosed boot (albeit a spare wheel seems visible in the sketch): a bit of a new Aero.

There was a post a few weeks ago in which Morgan wanted to say goodbye to 1930s design and turn to the 1960s. That would go with the previous post.

Jens .... SLR body on a CX platform would make a nice 'modern' retro offering.

I know I'm an old skinflint who thinks even 20k is a lot for a car but at modern new Morgan prices if they can improve the fit, finish and dynamics they should all get them at that price not just some even more expensive 'premium' model.

I think Morgan are in a very difficult position being a low volume bespoke car manufacturer, who are having to meet increasingly more demanding clientele at their current and rising price point and at the same time do not have the benefits of economies of scale and resultant lower production costs in an increasingly demanding legislative and regulatory environment.

The costs will not be inconsequential for just the basics like engine, transmission and drivetrain, before you add in the labour intensive production operation. I suspect the economics of survival will push both product exclusivity and sales prices increasingly upwards.

What this means for trad used prices will be interesting as clearly there is a step change in the affordability between the everyday trad and CX and not everyone will be seeking a modern ride from their Morgan.

Prices to reflect that with the four heading north of 90 for a sensible spec.
Traction control & handling mods.
Better seats & speakers.
New door cards and a dash including a glove box and air bags.

All essential, I feel.

But should we be expected to pay extra for it!

A 2.5L Boxster S, well specified and including all those features, is between £78,000 and £85,000.... straight in the Morgan target market.
Porsche dealers are tightly managed by Porsche.... as is the brand. In some ways a bit too "corporate".
If MMC can provide Porsche levels of product quality, yet maintain the best of Morgan quirkiness I think they should be in a good place.
I suspect that dealing with the brake master cylinder recall had taught them a lot with a very steep learning curve.

Yesterday I looked at the current prices for used 4/4 and +4 here in Germany. Even if it's just a snapshot, I have the impression that the prices have risen significantly.
