Why not confused2

In many German towns bicycles and pedelics (e-powered bicycles) are used successfull.

And I have heard that you live on islands with one or two rainy days..

From what I read they're unlikely to be used for any real Police work other than as an attention getting prop at Public Engagement events ... their main users would seem to be planned as Charity/Council workers promoting Public Safety and Nightime street support along the lines of Street-Pastor type interventions.

It's not a modern development. I was in Thailand 30 years ago and they ran them on LPG then. In fact, I was told that the name came from the noise made by their LPG-powered engines. Mind you, whether or not they run them on patio heater cylinders in Bangkok, I'm pretty sure that would be highly illegal over here.

For those interested in such things I can thoroughly recommend the book "Cops & Robbers" by Ant Anstead, himself a former police officer.

Apart from anything else, he explains the various types of police vehicles. There is a lot of difference in the requirements of a unit beat police car, an area or division car and a traffic car.

I understand and support the eBikes in town, makes total sense. Given the amount of gubbins they carry these days as well!

My concern is that the average drunken person coming out of the pub at 11pm is going to see that thing, laugh and then start to take the piss out of them. Not really productive for the general public relationship and respect for the force.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

And it now in the hands of a FolkMog member. The colour suits it but the that doesn't spell ambulance signs are removed
