I wonder if anyone can help with my 1998 4/4 blowing the fuel pump fuse on startup. It doesn’t happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying. It’s fitted with a 15 amp fuse, is this the correct size? Once running the car runs perfectly.

Fuse box info here from GoMog FusesIntermittent fail could be a fuel pump on the way out

15 amp fusing sounds right for a fuel pump Chris. If it's blowing then excessive load on pump itself due to dirt or simply as John suggests pump is on its way out. Can't say definitively as 1998 wiring diagrams where available are a bit hit and miss but there doesn't appear to be a fuel pump relay. Doubt if such would be the cause anyway.

You could try a full dose of Seafoam in a full tank of fuel which will clean and lubricate the whole fuel system so if it the fuel pump which is a bit bunged up this could work. You can get Seafoam on Amazon - great stuff been using it for years and use a small dose permanently in my older motorcycles.
