No sorry, helped folk out in the past with parts sources and didn't get a single word of thanks for it.

+1

Let's be honest (something in short supply in the current world.) 30 years of helping my fellow owners has made me blunt.

This is an unusual forum in light of previous Morgan groups. Arwyn. Dangerous non-mechanical. Most people here are sweet and the social stuff is good, but
unfounded gratuitous abuse can break out from regulars and there are no solid sources for the cars' welfare, no collegiate discussion and no professional input.
I have often admired YOUR concise and always accurate posts, but you are one person. I assumed over a decade ago when I closed eMog, exhausted, that
the UK's MogTalk, an adept Morgan forum would catch that torch, but it has been closed. confused2 and this is all there is. The true gurus have fled the
internet. They are still around but group discretely now, just when they are needed most by the community. A glance at gomogs' Help Line inbox, one can see
it is an ongoing tragedy. Weird as it is so easy to open a discussion group these days. I still get that request a couple of times a week and it is 12 years since
I shut eMog! eMog wasn't about me, it was about everyone. I learned so much! Specific forums aren't as important as the community they serve. They
are just party lines for the same crowd, though the Morgan internet crowd has shrunk so much after splendid growth for the first 15 years.

I used to hope Talk Morgan would come around, something Peter would always say about Charles. I still pray it does.

1. Received a shedload of good mechanical advice on this forum
2. When I receive advice, I always say thank you. That's how I was brought up.
3. When I give advice based on my experience, I do so freely, and expect nothing in return. Again, that's how I was brought up.

If you have nothing nice to say it's always best to keep it to yourself too - this is a place of knowledge sharing and friendship with no place for acrimony or a place seen as fit to settle old scores doh
It saddens me to read such nonsense on here, after all if that is your view why bother logging in if it causes you anguish. Over and out..

I think it's a bit sad if a person's motive for sharing a phone number is to receive thanks.
I wouldn't be happy with myself if I couldn't share a handy tip with my fellow Morgan owners without counting how many said thanks.

We disagree...you're Andy Garlick aren't you.....

But the subject matter here involves peoples' safety and their pocket books. I applaud your zeal but you also regularly steer people in the wrong direction and
that costs LOTS over the years, especially since this forum has each post searchable forever by the world and not simply the members here who have
agreed to the risks of taking advice.

If you had been on another functional automobile forum, your posts would be part of a collegiate discussion and very much welcome as part of a search for
answers. As it is your innocent errors stand alone forever. I can tell you, though you are more hands-on than most, that the format here does not do you justice.

I have no choice to pass by here regularly as so many issues I receive each day relate to posts from this format here..yours posts as well. Yet with the right
format you would the valuable asset to the marque as you were on eMog. And there is no arguing with your enthusiasm. But no one questions anything here
and therefore the risks are high. EACH post stands alone without possibility of improvement or correction..which is the inevitable result, I guess, of "if-you-have
nothing--nice-to say..." rule..which frankly, you and TBM do not follow at all. I follow your lead. Did I make a mistake?

Not hard to see the NBC imprimatur laugh2 But I care about people and their Morgans. Why not switch to an university debate format before...? With
that format more people will contribute and errors can be quickly and amiably corrected without fear of a odious reprisal or a casual discourtesy.
