My understanding of a Radial engine is that the crankshaft rotates not the pots.

In a radial engine, the multiple cylinders "radiate" out from the crankcase, hence the name. In a rotary engine, the cylinders do indeed rotate. There's an animated schematic at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_engine#Engine_operation
