Richard, I hate to say but they are all one piece. A Ford special. They look the same as those fitted to the Duratec and may be other Ford engines. So I would try a scrap yard. On some engines they have a rubber socket srewed onto the top thread to mount the engine cover on.

John. Well thanks for update John and apologies for suggesting otherwise. I have noticed the unused studding seems a common feature with modern engines. I'm guessing on the models our engines are borrowed from his allows easy attachment of plastic covers to hide from those offended, the oily polluting engine  There are even bobbles on the end of similar studs on my Roadster suggesting such covers just clip on.

Alpha1 Here are the dimensions, all in mm. Both threads are M6 and the hexagon is 7.8mm A/F (so 8mm spanner) which is smaller than a normal M6 nut. These studs are available in different lengths as I found one on my GDI +4 that is somewhat longer. Hope this helps. If you need more info PM me. Exactly Richard, we must not see the oily bits. I think these engines are provided by "Ford Component Sales" who, I assume just sell generic base engines. I think clip-on plastic engine covers are pretty common on all engines these days, aren't they? Even our Td5 Defender has got one. I assumed that they didn't fit them on Morgans either because they didn't fit or they looked silly because they were designed for a conventional transverse-fit modern engine bay.
