NEWS: Please join us in welcoming Nick Wilson, who joins the Morgan Motor Company as Chief of Staff with immediate effect.
Nick, who served in the Royal Navy for 22 years – most recently as a Lieutenant Commander – joins the company during an exciting period of transition, and brings a wealth of post-military industry experience. Reporting directly to our CEO, Massimo Fumarola, Nick will join the senior leadership team as the company continues its sustainable journey towards new technology, maximising international opportunities, and the implementation of company-wide initiatives.
Nick said, “I am delighted to be joining the Morgan Motor Company at what is a hugely exciting point in the marque’s 113-year history. Morgan has a unique position within the automotive industry, blending traditional craft with modern technology, and is well placed to deal with the everchanging business landscape. Always a bit worrying to see the expensive overhead base growing, especially in such a small company. Let’s hope its productive. Often when this happens each new senior person brings in their own expensive associates which leads to swings in direction, increased NPPW (..non productive people watchers..) and ultimately financial issues. I hope the new management have a long term commitment to the future of the business and not just their egos and short term bonuses. Opps … may have overstepped the mark here but it is not necessarily a good sign in my opinion..

How many new car sales does it take to pay one senior salary? That's the question. Chief of Staff? They need a Customer Services Guru more, dare I suggest?

Yes the question is who will they cull. Sorry I'm a cynic having worked for VC companies. For some but not all loyalty is not rewarded & ruthless beaviour is if it raise profit & the all important multiple. The old senior team will have had to invest in the company & therefore have a lot at risk beyond just a job.

What does a Chief of staff do in a company that from its last accounts only employs 214 people ?

After sales service in general.
In the last week I have seen
no aeromax wheels to replace a damaged one
no aero S3 wheels to replace a damaged pair
The prices of several known OEM parts being seriously inflated
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

What does a Chief of staff do in a company that from its last accounts only employs 214 people ? Hopefully he will detail one of those 214 to proof-read their Press Releases and stop the repetition of the same old guff. Read that Release again: the implementation of company-wide initiatives……. and implementing company-wide initiatives
