I do really enjoy those types of meetings compare to those of just one marque. The pic of the Ford Pop with it`s single wing mirror caused me to remember how far we have come from a time when even as late as the seventies you had to pay extra for a sun visor on the passenger side of a Hillman Avenger... Then Datsun came along and wiped the floor with UK marketing strategy.. Changed days indeed..

Assuming you are referring to the blue 100E Popular, it has two wing mirrors, the nearside one being camoflaged by the modern wheel in the background. I think they all came with two wing mirrors, certainly both 100Es I had, had two. Mine were non standard though, with 1500 Cortina GT engines, 4 speed box and disc brakes. Oh and no vacuum wipers.

Another drive up to Norwich, this time to test ride a Royal Enfield Classic 350. I hadn't been on a bike for more than 15 years but the bike was terrific and I immediately felt at home. It's not a particularly powerful bike but it has a lovely flat torque "curve" and sounds wonderful like a 350 single should. Have to say, I absolutely loved it.

As I told you Kevin the one I had in Kenya was excellent. Go for it.
I drove to Orford for day on the Ness with other NT volunteers

About 180 miles today, to Daytona, Florida, for the historic race weekend. Went in company with a nearby Moghead, as most of the trip was on the infamous I-95 demolition derby circuit. Fortunately, the weather, traffic, and mechanical gremlins all cooperated and we had an uneventful trip. There are about 10-15 cars bunked up at a hotel on the East end of the Speedway. If the sounds emanating from over the fence from this afternoon’s practice are any indication, the weekend should be a lot of fun. We are going to (I think) get a chance at a parade lap at some point tomorrow. Updates forthcoming…
