Small companies seem to get crazy... A couple of weeks ago I had to snapshot this linkedin search on my profile... There is no hint to morgan as it is just a professional contact profile... These are the companies where the searchers work... ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/11/01/F5E4ECE5-4533-4962-8150-A7739990A798.jpg) I donˋt think I could substancially benefit either Donkervoort or Morgan although I love my trad and would also fancy a Donkervoort..

LinkedIn (which I am assuming the description came from?) has become about as helpful as Twatter these days.
I read it in many ways but essentially it is self-scripted so it's always a laugh to unravel and find the reality under the language. I see a very affirmative manner which could prove interesting in the factory.

"Passionate about British luxury automotive, I am senior manager who orchestrates the delivery of over 1000 bespoke global roles in the national interest through key relationships. Substantial crisis management and operational experience in the Armed Forces, specialising in urgent planning and resource management (including: BREXIT & COVID-19). I enjoy problem solving and am interested in bringing my excellent inter-personal skills, relationship management, decisive leadership and planning aptitude to the commercial environment; in particular the British automotive/motorsport industry." I am reasonably literate but I’m not sure I understand some of this BS. Simples ! Years ago I was told that when writing a C.V. and "Personal Statement", all you need to do is to feed all the buzzwords into a mincer and pull the handle. I had a go using the same buzzwords as above, and came-up with this first draft of a Statement which probably wouldn't get the job but IMHO shows candour and integrity My knowledge and experience of the British luxury automotive sector does not include the delivery of bespoke Morgans, which I hope to become passionate about. I anticipate my first challenge will be problem solving. When it comes to key relationships I shall draw on the substantial resource management experience of colleagues with relevant global operational experience. I shall orchestrate some urgent planning initiatives (drawing on my planning aptitude), and my excellent inter-personal skills will be called into play when relationship management and subsequently crisis management proves ineffectual. To demonstrate my decisive leadership I shall not hesitate to escape from the commercial environment of the British automotive industry and return to the Armed Forces and roles in the national interest.

We could make a nice thread with various versions of this.

Even in the murky world of merchant banking and derivatives trading a resume full of buzzword slogans and verbiage was a big red flag. And that was 15 years ago. There is NO better statement of your abilities than the opinion of your peers as to your performance, skill and integrity. No need for hyperbole and self-promotion. If you’re respected, your industry reputation will precede & speak for you. Let’s see what the motor industry thinks and look forward to the performance of the new boy……

I don't tend to post much now but with all the changes happening you do have to wonder about future direction.
I looked at the accounts, I don't profess to understand big business but when your interest payments are the size of Morgans and the debt is getting on for £80 million I do wonder what is going to happen, producing 2,000 cars a year will see almost £4000 of the cars cost going to service debt, and that's only going to get worse if the top end wage bill continues to grow.
Something is going wrong though, myself and junior have both put deposits down with the factory for Super 3's when the car was released but haven't heard anything for a long time now, so I'm not sure what the role of all the additional sales staff is, they certainly can't be making much on commision.
Slowly going green

Probably in a long queue John. Enjoy when you do get them. Some of my colleagues are test driving one today. I hope it stays for them

How many new car sales does it take to pay one senior salary? That's the question. Chief of Staff? They need a Customer Services Guru more, dare I suggest? As an Investindustrial appointment, it may be that they will pick up his salary. This is a regular senior shareholder management technique where they need anything from a specific task to a general review completed. It gives the incumbent the authority & position to act for the benefit of both entities without burdening the junior company with the cost. It's usually a short-term strategy but is often a precursor to significant structural changes. Pure speculation of course but we will see......
