I went today and thoroughly enjoyed it. With my eclectic taste there were lots of tempting and "affordable" cars from Rover P4's to Bentley saloons. Fortunately I don't have the space.

I thought the standard of cars offered in the auction was generally very good. I was particularly taken by a Jaguar XKR coupe which was really stunning. Fast Fords seemed to be flavor of the day though, with some eye-watering estimates.

It will be interesting to see what the auction Plus 8 fetches as it was rebuilt by a well-respected Morgan Independent that's frequently mentioned on here.

Good run back in my mates supercharged Jaguar saloon which averaged 33 mpg, rather impressive IMHO.

Went for £32,625

For a fully rebuilt car with an uprated 4.6 engine someone has got a nice car.

Presumably plus buyer's premium?

Buyer's premium charge for motor vehicles is 12.5% +VAT on the first £300,000 so my maths make it an additional £4893 so about £37500.

Lsting fee is £250 +VAT and sellers commission is 7.5% +VAT for motor vehicles so the seller would have paid £3236 in fees, so taken home £29,389

I think the biggest winner here is the Auction House who gained £8100 in fees Going to pop to my shed and see if I can find a wooden hammer........

If the +8 might be the car I think it is, then compared to any other of the same age and newer, I suspect it represents far better value for money than many folk might be able to appreciate, given if it did indeed come from the same stable as did mine, I well know the value of the quality of workmanship and care put into it`s restoration will pay dividends to any owner in terms of potential longevity, perhaps more so when compared to more modern Morgans that are so dependant on digital technology for something as simple as brake lights to operate correctly, and so much more...

I suspect Trads like cockroaches may still be around when more modern vehicles have run out of spares or any of the oh so many connections in their wiring may have failed...... But then I am a self confessed Luddite...

The £32,625 for the Plus 8 includes the buyers premium.

Highest bid would be in the region of £28,500

In which case with a buyer's premium of 12.5% plus VAT the bid would have been £28369! Therefore, I still think that £32625 was the hammer price.

Was anyone there to confirm?
