Now that the season has returned to normal (albeit a bit later than expected) I'm looking forward to the Mercedes 1 and 2 on the grid.
The Sprint Race on Saturday was wonderful, I hope the main event is as good!

Indeed, it should be a fascinating game of tactical chess, with 4 cars from Mercedes, Redbull, and a Ferrari & McLaren in the mix.
I hear the sprint race had cooler temperatures than forecast for the GP, which might have been in MB's favour over RB, where softs were thought to be marginal before the race, but turned out to be fine. Do MB mix up tyre strategies today, or put both cars on the fastest first stint option, and let RB come & get them? Do RB set Checco on a one stop long long long medium tyre stint, to finish fast on softs? & so on...!

Well if it is going to come down to tactics that's Ferrari out of it then. Given their recent capabilities they will probably start Charles on Monsoon tyres. From 2017.

Some great racing at last this season.

Love it that the BBC now recognising Lewis as an eight time world champion wink

An amazing race, the very best for a long, long time and I'm delighted for Mercedes and George. George has had a fantastic weekend, one he will never forget.
Lewis was amazing, and never forgets he is part of a team. For me that is a key part of his value.

Max is now in the same "Sh*t" category as Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, in my book.
The Media reports that Helmut Marko had to remind Verstappen that he was driving for RED Bull Racing, not Max Bull Racing.
If I was Helmut I'd put Max in the Alfatauri team for a few races... Max needs to learn that the team is far more important than any one person.

Indeed, epic stuff

& the contrast between the teams couldn't have been clearer

Here's hoping Pierre Gasly gets Max' Red Bull seat next weekend, as a thank you sendoff from Reb Bull :-)

Yes on all fronts.

Max passing Checo and then not giving back the place with that sarcastic comment knowing the world could hear it. Wow. Toys, Pram.
Charles pleading for the place to raise his point score when Carlos had driven so well. Mind you his position was better than I expected given they managed to screw his race again. What are Ferrari thinking?
Sainz did well in the sprint and race, for a man who was on the edge Ferrari must be happy they made that decision.
Max and Lewis rubbing carbon bits in the corner was new as they have mostly managed to be smart up to recently, loved Lewis comment, "you know how it is with Max"
George just nailed it. Quali, Sprint, Race all done like a long standing pro never mind someone in their first year in a leading team.
They do seem to have raised the capability of that car.
Alonso did well.
The Aston team had a few moments, mostly among themselves! I am guessing young Strohl has been put on notice and is desperate.
Lewis carried himself well considering that he is now almost certain to be beaten by his team mate this year. Fairly. No mucking around by F1, the team or others.

Given the previous years domination by Lewis over his team mates this is something.
Previously it was 1-3 teams in division 1 and then a clear second division, this year not so much, more interesting as a result.

As we are close to the end of the years it is a giggle to look at the "naughty step results"

Great sprint and race.

So next race is the final one. Prosecco and Olives ordered.
Mercedes need 26 points to pass Ferrari as they stand now - unlikely but way better than they looked mid season.
LeClerc and Perez under pressure.
Lewis, George and Carlos in with a chance of changing places.

Pity the track is rather bland.

p.s. would love to be a fly on the wall come Lewis next negotiation, and George's!

Great result for Russell.
Hamilton showing class.
Hamilton hasn’t had a win for the first season ever. Told he was racing Russell (no team orders?) No arguments about Russell letting him pass to break that “record”.
Next year at Merc will be interesting, though.
Mercedes improvements working, albeit at a suiting track.
Max showing his true colours. Who would be a “team mate”? I wonder if RB will up the ante above just tongue lashing? If he is harbouring a grudge against Perez then he had better hope his past misdemeanours don’t come back to haunt him.
I was starting to appreciate his performance this year and apparent improved maturity until I heard his radio comment. Perez has done a good job as his wingman this year
Red Bull have a reputation problem with spending limits, belligerence, and now Max.
Ferrari have let down two classy drivers with their amazingly poor strategy decisions. Italian horses must be afraid.

I too had thought Max had matured.

I guess I was wrong.
