I would just remove the little screws and drop the plastic dash under tray in the first instance. Take a look behind the glove box, you may well find it.

Anyone know where to get exact replacements for those little black screws with their integral washers ? (mine have been removed many times and have become somewhat worn)

That definately looks like the one Dave, an eight way connector with just two wires as mentioned It also fits in with proximity to cig lighter socket wires which branch from same area.

It simply doesn't make sense to re-invent the wheel and run in fresh wiring when MMC have provided it for you.

Whilst on this subject I wish folk would stop banging on about the infamous PCB in this case, it just adds unjustified doubt and confusion. As explained I've traced the wiring for such from battery through to actual lights and it routes, via three fuses admittedly, with simple connections and no interaction by anything other than sidelight stalk switch and certainly not the PCB. Furthermore there must have been a few cars of that era spec'd with fog or spot lamps factory fitted from new, and I've seen no reports of their failure. Sorry for rant.

Search for "black screw with washer" on eBay. There are a variety available and sure you would find a match to measured size of OE.

Revealing the three wires we've been looking for, sure looks like the fog light switch loom to me




The sub loom is quite long, it reaches the steering column cowl to the right




And all the way to the passenger side on the left




Hmmm, what's this then?




Oh silly me, I've got a switch for my front fog lights already! Interestingly it's a momentary switch




And finally, Morgan has kindly provided the wiring for a useful second 12v power supply or USB charger socket

Hmm! a lot to take in there. Unused wires you may have found:

Purple and black wires terminating in female spade connectors are optional map light connections. Beware purple is permanently live.

Single red/orange also terminating in female spade and routed from cigar lighter - guessing this is panel light fed illumination for same.

2 x 8 way connectors - radio hook up if you don't have one fitted.

A little sceptical regarding fog light wires. Was expecting you to find the 8 way connector shown in Rog's picture with just the two wires mentioned. Can I take it you haven't found such?

Regarding switch you have top left. It has the icon for front fog but it's not clear on your pics if you have similar rear fog switch which I would expect to be top right. This should have similar icon but with beam lines sloping downwards. Can you confirm?

In any case I would suggest finding blue/yellow wires under front wings and hooking those up to your fog lights with suitable ground connections as discussed. This will give you the opportunity for testing at the dash end. Given your findings so far it could be they simply work with switch found

In my car the icon for front fog has the three lines to the left of the lamp and sloping downwards. It lights up green.

The rear fog icon has the lines to the right of the lamp as in Montegue's photo above. They are horizontal and light up yellow. My guess is that the switch in the photo is for rear fog.

Easily checked if the fog lights are hooked up as suggested.
