Many thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. I was so frustrated with the responses from Morgan on this and other issues that I had the vehicle independently inspected and sure enough the suspension “repair” was illegal. News of the inspection sparked an immediate offer to replace both rear springs. I had rung the good people at Brands Hatch Morgan prior to the inspection who were most helpful and prescribed exactly the same check of the front as you have. So it’s back to the work shop again. Thanks vincentvg.

Thank you for your detailed response. I was going nowhere with Morgan or its approved repairer down here and made enquiries of Brands Hatch Morgan and MMC HQ. Both came back with similar suggestions to you. An independent inspected of the car sparked an immediate offer from Morgan to replace both rear springs but I will get the front end rechecked. Looks like my Christmas gift from Morgan will be to have the car back in the workshop over the holidays! Thanks Fjemog

Just another example of the extremely poor quality of their finished article. If the cars were properly checked at all surely this would be spotted. There is just no excuse, cars simple should not go out to customers like that. The fact that they are at the other side of the world is even worse and costs them a lot more to rectify. I doubt you will be in a rush for another one.

Interesting comment. I was stunned and very disappointed at the quality of presentation and finish when I finally got the car home. Poorly fitted accessories, steering wheel off centre and noisy when you turn it. A a steering alignment required not to mention the lean. All these items have or are in the process of being fixed but at close to A$90,000 all up they can have it back.....!

I agree...the cars should be thoroughly checked at the factory prior to despatch...they certainly seem to get both a road test and a detailed checkover whenever I've been at the factory. But.....the dealer really should be doing the final inspection as with any make of car.
Oz....I do hope that everything gets sorted out quickly for you and you can start enjoying the car. They really are great fun and full of character and hopefully you will be able to put all these problems behind you in time.

It would seem from the posts on here that in the last couple of months at least, the cars are just being fired out any old way. I think that they (MMC & some of their dealers) are some what shooting them selves in the foot here. It sure won't help to bring in and retain new customers to the marque, which is what they really, really need to be doing. Personally, I think that come the spring time again I will be moving on to something else, perhaps an Aston.

I think you need to relax a little, Ivan!! Put a few miles on your car and test it out properly in the spring weather & I think you just might enjoy it too much to bother moving to something different.
Visit us down in Wexford for a start!!
Cheers!

Cheers! What a kind invitation!!!! How about a Talk Mog trip to Ireland? Seriously, I feel sad for those of you who have had a bad experience with your new cars. My own 4/4 (which I bought S/H and is now 9 years old) has been the basis for some wonderful trips and friendships in the 6 years I have owned it. Yes, it needs time spent on it (which I love). It needs greasing, tightening up and general TLC; but it also gives us so much pleasure. . . So my suggestion to Ivan would be not just a trip to Wexford, but a trip to France in the Spring to amble the back roads, small town to small town. Then if you do decide to sell, you will at least have had that experience. . . for me it is magical, so much so that 2012 will be the Mogs 6th trip to France, (along with a wonderful holiday in Northern Spain this year). Bud ps I beleive that Brittany Ferries run a service from Cork to Roscoff, so maybe you can call in at Wexford on your way to the ferry?

Jays, I hope you’re right and I start to enjoy the car. Such a shame having been drawn into the romance of the Morgan product to feel so let down. Prior to delivery, I purchased specialised luggage, aviators cap and goggles for my son on the drive home not to mention badges, Morgan books and videos. The annoying part is the majority of the problems are all relatively simple issues of presentation.
There are at least three cars in Australia that have the “lean” and it would pay recent buyers of classic Morgan’s anywhere in the world to check their cars.
I had my car independently inspected to establish what Morgan had done to correct the problem. They claimed they just had to replace U bolts which I found strange. They replaced U bolts alright because they had also pulled out the lowering block on one side!
The inspection brought an immediate offer from Morgan to replace both rear springs.
However this matter proceeds, my car needs to be fixed. I just hope it is done properly.

I'm at my dealers on Tuesday picking up my car ( new low ratio diff fitted) and I'll ask him if he's heard of problems with the suspension.
