In the mean time I have been wondering why the snow was yellow.  In my defense I have seen red, or perhaps more pink, snow which was contaminated with dust from the Sahara. Or perhaps there is another explantion: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20210729-why-snow-in-the-alps-is-turning-red
