Ps .... funny how the mind plays tricks .... I just see the track from Ettores to Pardon as dead straight and hit it with every horsepower and ounce of grip I've got ... seeing through a camera rather than a visor it's a bit bendy 😁

I had a great day out with the Scimitar Owners Club a while back at the Bressingham Steam Museum. They seem to be great cars and very popular judging by the number that were there.
Here for a good time not a long time!!

The angle the photo is taken from Keith actually makes it look more twisty than it is. The Ettores apex you can just see in the photo is at the every end of the corner. Then kiss the track edge of the left kink on the left hand side. Straight line so you are virtually against the Armco on the right just before turning in to Pardon hairpin. Easy to type - much harder to actually string all the bits together in one run Reg - sounds like a good day out

we also drive about 120km to Bremen to this Syrian restaurant.
We discovered this Syrian restaurant in September by chance when we were looking for a parking space in Bremen to go into the centre:
Some distance away I saw an Aero drive into a long warehouse right at the old River Weser harbour.
On the way back, we "accidentally" walked along the river Weser and took a look at this former warehouse.
Inside are various dealers for vintage cars, vintage car workshops, vintage car rental and 2 pubs.
There are about 30-40 classic cars between the workshops.
Entrance ist free.
One of the two restaurants is a Syrian restaurant.
Since Covid19, I don't think it's appropriate for me to be in restaurants filled with people or other enclosed spaces without mouth and nose protection because of health problems.
This Syrian restaurant had many tables outside with a view of the old overseas harbour: so why not try Syrian food?
You could also say: It doesn't matter whether it's German, Chinese or Syrian - the main thing is to go out for a light-hearted meal again.
That's how we got to know Syrian food.
Last week we visited the so-called "Christmas Market" in Bremen.
And of course parked near this warehouse.
This restaurant also has tables in a kind of open bedouin tents in the large hall with all the classic cars.
In september we enjoyed the food very much and the staff and the owner were very friendly in a very natural and discreet way.
These tables were unoccupied: Why not eat comfortably with a view of beautiful cars?
That sounds like a fascinating part of the Bremen area to visit with lots of car interest and food, what's not to like. When we lived in Zeven we visited the Bremen Christmas Market held in the lovely square and visited the Town Hall and had some lunch downstairs as I recall. We had Heathers Mum out staying with us for a few weeks and she loved the architecture of the Town Hall (as did we) and the bronze statue of the animals by the entrance so we bought her a coloured glass ornament of the animals and a water colour print of the Hall.. I remember Botcherstrasse too just off the square which was lovely, many happy memories of Bremen and Hamburg visits. We had a great Indonesian restaurant in Zeven which I think came about as there was a large number of NL soldiers on a NATO base just up the road at Seedorf. Also a good Greek one and of course the normal top class German eateries. It would have been an expensive engine out job to fix it, and I had "cash flow" problems at the time so it had to go. ![[Linked Image]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/31/1964_Honda_S600_engine.jpg/2560px-1964_Honda_S600_engine.jpg) It was a lovely fun little thing and I would not mind having one as a toy today, though perhaps the later S800 which was not only more powerful (capable of topping the ton) but incorporated a number of technical improvements. I worked for a cosmetics company at the time and one of the girls was a regular passenger in the back but on one memorable occasion we squeezed in myself, my mate, plus 3 girls, one sitting between us and 2 climbed in the back through the hatch. I am, or was, a tad over 6 foot and occupied a fair amount of the available space but still managed to drive it despite the crowd. Today one would get quite a large fine but back then things seemed a bit easier.

One of my first sports cars was the Honda S800, great little car but very difficult to get the spares and expensive to maintain, used it to take my Aunt in the front with younger brother and sister (crouched up in the back behind the seats) to the family farm. They were a even more squashed coming back keeping the butchered pig company all the way home. In the summer whenever I was out on the motorbikes my Father would take my Mother for a spin in it without asking first, I always knew because my father would fill the tank before coming back home. He never extended the same courtesy and let me use his Jaguar. The Honda S800 are quite serious money these days if you can find a nice example, keeping it running may be a challenge as spares where very thin on the ground in the UK when new. My other favourite GT at this time was my Vauxhall Viva GT https://www.goodwood.com/grr/road/news/2019/1/classic-first-drive-vauxhall-viva-gt/ great car, terrible in the winter as backend too light so carried a few paving slabs in the boot, inner wings needed repair sections at the bonnet brackets within 3 years but went like stink for the time. Another great little pocket rocket was the Suzuki Cappuccino from the early 1990's just over 660cc, fun to drive (if slightly cramped for me) but unfortunately suffered from tin worm, had some great fun in one of those, mind you it looked like I was wearing it rather than driving it. I like the MX5 a little too cramped for my 6 foot plus frame plus the interior is a little cheap looking, but as I'm shrinking over time I may yet fit into one.
