same on my car. I have added a piece of neoprene to decrease the air flow passing trough that gap ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2021/10/26/20211026_173348.jpg)

Thanks Thierry , We have done similar , However and I appreciate “ it’s a Morgan Sir”stock answer MMC say it’s acceptable on a soft top car with s/ screens. I think it is totally unacceptable on a 80k car and feel MMC should up their game an redesign the rear qtr on the s/ screen.

Steve H I agree totally - both my car - a 2021 car- and my friends 2022 model had huge gales of wind blow in at Kidney level at the back of the doors/ sidescreen level. I have pretty well solved the problem with various bits of neoprene, but it is very poor form that such defects are present in a car costing north of €100k here in Ireland! Surely the much vaunted design team are more competent than that!! The model22 car with its “improved” “much quieter” hood is as bad as mine — time for Jon Wells and his merry band to get the finger out and solve it

It's a strange one isn't it. If someone is buying a CX Morgan and they've had trad cars before they should probably expect all the normal idiosyncrasies that make a Morgan a Morgan. I agree that at £80k+ you might expect a car to be watertight......but..... IT IS A MORGAN......with sidescreens....!
I don't think sidescreens, (or a Morgan) could ever be totally watertight. Nearly all other car manufacturers realised 60 years ago that sidescreens were rubbish and went to wind up windows.
If you put wind up windows on a trad lookalike CX it then takes one more step away from ye oldie worldie driving experience that Morgan owners 'say' they want. I say, 'SAY' they want, because it's clear that what buyers perhaps actually want is a modern car. By the time you've got an auto box, fancy hifi, footwell lights, heated seats, a/c and wind up windows etc etc you might as well get a normal car.....🤷🏻♂️
Perhaps it's more of a demonstration of the confused position MMC have put themselves in. They want to make an up to date, relevant product, whilst at the sale time making a 1940's throwback. They need to attract new clients but they need to retain the old client base.
Something has to give.

Julian - it’s not the watertightness that’s at issue - it’s the gale of wind attacking the body at kidney level - none of the previous 3 Morgans I have owned had the problem - some did leak a bit, but not the gale of wind!! So I cannot be accused of not expecting known previous issues with the breed. That said, the CX car is light years ahead of previous cars even though it has taken almost a year to quench the gale to an acceptable level!!!

My salesman warned me. His statement was if you expect a perfect car for the money you are wrong at Morgan. I still decided to order a CX

My salesman warned me. His statement was if you expect a perfect car for the money you are wrong at Morgan. I still decided to order a CX That more or less sums it all up. Side screens are part of the car and will never be air tight. But there are of course other quality control issues that MMC should get sorted.

As I have said - It has taken almost a year to get the gale down to an acceptable level - I did NOT say it was eliminated! It IS a Morgan after all - I DID say that the design needs to be improved by the factory to the acceptable level without customers having to “bodge” it to the degree it has taken! Neoprene foam is a “mighty” thing!!!!
Cheers all! And a very happy and merry Christmas from Ireland!
