Just a quick question to the more experienced Morgan buyers out there. I have ordered my car with black leather seats and light grey stitching, as you can see in some of my pictures further up in the thread. I have also ordered the winged Morgan logo to be stitched between the two seats. When I went to visit my car at the dealership, I noticed that the Morgan logo is stitched with black thread instead of the light gray used everywhere else on the seats. So black logo on black leather seems a bit pointless (and invisible...) to me. swear According to the configurator, the logo is supposed to be the same color as the stitching in the seats.

I know it is a minor (esthetical) problem, but for sure it will bug me every time I look at it.

What would you do when it comes to taking over the car from the dealer? Insist on having this fixed (not sure if the middle part between the seats can be exchanged easily)? Refuse to pay for it (does not solve the problem). Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Adrian.

The bad image below shows what the Morgan wings look like on my Super 3. I’ll take a better picture in the next day or two - it’s throwing it down with rain and as much as I love looking at my Super 3, it’s nice and warm / dry in the house unlike what it will be walking to my garage!

Thank you, PaulV. Exactly the feedback I needed. At the price level of a new (basic) Porsche Cayman I think we can (and should) expect to get exactly what we wanted. I also noted that the dashboard is not in Raven Black veneer gloss, but (as AnotherBelgian) already mentioned in some sort of piano black material. Also here I would have expected to be contacted by the dealer if this is not/no longer available and asked for alternatives not just be presented with what somebody thought would be the best alternative. Since it is still black it does not change the look of the car, so fine for me, but the logo I will challenge and see what happens. Thanks all for your feedback.

Marketing managers pay Advertising Agencies vast sums to come up with arty farty "on location" video and photo shoots, these real life shots will sell more.

I totally agree. Plus it seems that depending upon outside lighting, the car changes slightly its color. it really looks great Barkbark.

Chris, keep us post on the belt and enjoy the rides with the kids.

Thanks super3G. Regarding the belt noise, I was told it was the belt being a little tight when I test drive the Super 3 by a person at the factory. The noise has reduced on mine a little as I’ve driven it more. Whilst the noise is there, I promise that with the sports exhaust under full throttle, that noise is the very last thing on your mind!, My car will be checked over at 3 months by Morgan Works, if the squeal annoys me come then, it’ll be raised.

Thank you BarkBark. In your case with black leather & stitching I guess it is ok, but let's assume you would have chosen red stitching to go with the body color then for sure you would have wanted the logo in red, too.

You gave your self the answer (.....) I know it is a minor (esthetical) problem, but for sure it will bug me every time I look at it. (...).

Do everything to to avoid this feeling! You have paid a lot of money for YOUR car, so you gav to get everything as YOU want it!

Thank you, bmgermany! Fully agree with you. I have now sent my mail to the dealer to ask for this to be fixed. As you say, I bought the car to have a good feeling every time I see (and drive...) it, and not a bad one. I have not yet taken over the car, so it is between the dealer and Morgan Quality Assurance to sort this out among themselves. Liebe Grüsse nach Deutschland, Adrian.

Yeah, it started straight up again and then the battery warning came up on the dash straight away. I turned off the heated seats and blower heater and it went off. I’m worried the annoying noise coming from the engine might be the alternator.

Chris
The annoying noise - is it a high pitched whine/tone? - almost like an electric alarm? I have this noise which starts once the car is warm. I thought it was the alternator... I sent a sound recording to my dealer who sent it on to Morgan. They said it is a known fault related to the fuel system (vapour system) and there is a fix coming. Not sure if this helps you, but thought I'd share in case it is the same.
