Hello all, This Friday I finally got my Plus Six back from the shop after the required recall changes were made. That makes a full 6 months of unavailability for me. And since winter has arrived here in Germany just in time, I managed to drive the car about 10 meters to the storage garage where it will sit for the next probably 3 months, plugged into the charger. One may wonder if one needs such a car at all.... We will see.
How long did you have to wait for the fixes?
Grumpy,
Markus

Hello All,
some interesting answers. It seems that the dealers in France, Belgium and the UK are better in supporting their products. That would indicate that it is more related to country or the dealer. Are there more German customers who can report about their waiting time?
Clemens, i saw your introduction. We live rather close and the dealer network is small....

Markus, sorry to read of your frustration.
I have no "need" of my Morgan at this time in life as I can no longer enjoy it as I once did when I bought it 20 years ago. Back then we toured a bit of France Spain and Italy, in the process we created many Morgan related memories which we still value greatly. I only rarely fire up my old +8 these days just to ensure both the Mog and myself can keep things working as they ideally should, (-: These days I am unlikely to cover more than 30 miles or so in my Mog on any one trip and only on warm days, I still "want" to have it in my garage, perhaps acting more as an attractive automotive art form than fun transport... There are many and varied ways tone can enjoy a Morgan.. I hope you can begin to really enjoy yours soon Markus.

I guess like many, I have received an email from the Morgan Sports Car Club requesting feedback that they can take to MMC on whether, after rectification they are still experiencing problems. It seems they are aware that some owners are still experiencing problems with radiators, including leaks, even after the radiators were replaced as part of the recall. For the sake of owners and MMC alike, I sincerely hope this is a few isolated cases. I doubt whether many of us have had much chance to drive our cars since receiving them back. I hope we are not going to start suffering radiator issues again once the better weather arrives and we get back on the road. If we do, I think patience will be wearing very thin. I assume the radiators will be covered, even if the extended warranty as compensation for the recall has expired?

As far as consumer law is concerned, I have always understood that even when a part is replaced on an item, the original length of guarantee from the date of purchase of the original item still applies. One can only hope that in the case of Morgan, they will flex a bit as it is such a widespread issue. 🫰

I have made 3000 km since end august when the radiator and the master cylinder were changed. No leaks until now, i am going for the overhaul this week. My dealer told they will take the cost for the radiator problem until it is fixed even when the Waranty will be over. I am at the fourth radiators now and 6 months Waranty left.

In the USA they have Lemon laws introduced for this situation, with 4 new rads and no fix you would be able to take your car back and get a refund even if the car was outside it's warranty as you would claim the car is not repairable. Unfortunately in the UK you would need to rely on the Consumer protection act which is not car specific and does not go far enough, however a case could made that the manufacturer new of the faults at the time of production and would then be wide open to a civil action.
