Howdy all,

For legislative (and safety) reasons I'm adding some indicators to the side of my 2012 M3W.

The later wiring looms had the connections for these - but not on my early car. I've sourced identical LED unit used on the later Morgan's that have these installed.

My simplified installation method is to just make a double-adaptor and get a feed of the rear indicators, and run to the centre of the car.

My simplified grasp of auto electrics doesn't factor in CAN BUS, or modern implications.

Will the method I propose (in the diagram below) work?

As long as the extra repeaters are LED and draw no more current than the OE option that should work fine. I'm sure you could do away with one plug/socket set each side on your splitter to repeater though. Also remember green/white wire is right and green/red is left indicator circuit.

Note there is no CANBUS lamp monitoring but the flasher unit is designed for LED indicators only. The repeaters draw a miniscule amount of extra current.

FWIW when adding a loud bleeper to indicators on my Roadster I just cut into loom and added double female bullet connectors on each indicator circuit to provide the necessary extra feeds.

Where are you putting them? I added turn signal/brake lights on the back of my headrests to make me for visible to the pickup truck drivers here in the US.

The circuitry seems to be fine with the extra LED loads as I would expect.

I too added extra indicators and tail lamps to mine, both led lamps from the same source as MMC. They appear to be identical in appearance and operation.

The bottom lamp is added with the removal of the reflector.

I added lights replacing the simple reflectors. they are LED, so draw very little current. I did have the splitter you are using, which would have been easier, istead I used spade conectors. The only glitch was when of those was loose enough the wires backed our and blew a fuse
