Yes but the cost of living in the USA is cheaper generally, what is the cost of an average detached house where you live ?

Where I live an average 3 bedroom wood frame detached house is $800 - 850k, but in Nebraska for example a similar house would be $300 - 350k.

The town we live in has neighborhoods on the ocean, and there are houses in the $10-$20M range in those places, but a bit further inland, where we live, the average is $500-$600K. We used to live in Baltimore inside the city limits and our insurance was $3K/year. Houses there are in the $250-$300K range...

IMHO regarding the high price of the M3W insurance, the cause is that there are no more than a dozen here in the Spain. Very rare and they're not in the data base of the big insurance companies. Therefore, you need to pass through different smaller ones, and they abuse.

Gott and Wynn for insurance. Last years premium was less than the previous year.

Wish we had USA petrol prices in UK 🤠

Finch insurance, ultimate policy with Markerstudy, £671 for Plus 6, wife and I, I’m early 50’s, wife late 40’s. We had to send proof that we had driven powerful cars before. Had to send our policy with proof of no claims for RS4, and quickly join Morgan club and give membership number otherwise they were £1200 per year, Milage is unlimited.

Due to nature of our Agricultural haulage and contracting business, we insure large tractors, artic and ridged tipper lorries, Isuzu pickup, Amorok, Discovery commercial, RS4, and various transit vans. We insure all this with NFU. Here’s the interesting bit, all the above can be driven, if the driver has relevant license by any driver, male or female at the age of 18 or over with my permission for work and SDP.

When my kids were 17, learning to drive, the excess went up to £1000. Now it’s back to £400. My daughter is our youngest and she can drive a 300hp Discovery commercial at 18. It’s a quirky farming thing, and they have all been driving in fields as soon as they could reach the peddles, but NFU, along with many others wouldn’t insure the Plus 6 for any of us !!

NFU wouldn't insure the Plus 8 either.
Nor will LV, but they are both happy with the Boxster S.
So, the Morgan is with Gott and Wynn... again.

Headley/Finch sorted me out last July on my 1999 Plus 8 for £300.00 including legal protection, Morgan Rescue and home start - 2 drivers (me a septuagenarian) and 5,000mls. I've been with Headley for 19 years and they are good in a crisis, when I had my Sport written off for me, it was a good experience for an insurance company so I'll stay put as I treat as I find smile

The policy is with ERS instead of Hiscox this time.

I wouldn't want to cover 30 - 40k risk for that money is the only question I need to ask myself, peace of mind is my ruling factor not price.

I’ve been with Gott & Wynne six years now with my 4/4 (since ownership) Premium last March was £266 including legal expenses and breakdown cover. Just hoping the costs will be similar at renewal next month.
