Good morning to all, I need to purchase a new chassis plate for my 1979 4/4 four seater, like the one in the image. Any ideas where? ![[Linked Image]](https://hillclimbfrance.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/morgan-id-plate-morgan-vin-tag.jpg)

Realistically I don't think there is much chance of finding this exact plate. The best dealer option is Melvyn Rutter. I doubt the factory will hold things like this from that long ago.
Some enterprising replica maker should be able to do this though, from a scan.
Not much help sadly!

Your local signmaker will be able to print onto metal and/or metalised plastic. Signmakers also have design software to produce exactly the image required. But it will help a lot if you can take examples of the various components to be scanned, e.g. the Wings logo and the MMC text. If you have the actual piece from your post, or a good image of it, it will be easy to create what you need. I have had several reproductions of plates and labels made this way.

If you're not fitting it for reasons of total accuracy for concours or museum reasons then they're a pretty tacky piece of kit .... someone with a laser engraver could make you a far nicer and better quality item in brass or ali from a scan or pic .... it's one of the bits of '70s 'design' I've weeded out of my car ... to be replaced with something more in keeping when I get a moment.

Have a look on Etsy.com, and search for “engraved plaque”.

Many thanks chaps for your replies.
After a bit more searching on this excellent forum I came across an image of the said plate in perspective, I didn't realise how small it is.
I did eventually find a supplier in France who is asking 60€, which I find extortionate for such a tidily bit of ally.
Your suggestions got me thinking.
I designed my own using MS Publisher, then uploaded a transparent PNG file to Vista Print. It will be printed on a 15cm x 15cm piece of 3mm aluminium sandwich plate, I will then stamp in my chassis number as did Morgan back 79. The type face is not Identical but close enough to satisfy my local Control Technique (French MOT) guy. The best bit is that I had enough space to print a spare chassis plate should I mess up the stamping, several Morgan logos, the 'CAUTION' plate etc, all for 40€ shipped.
If any one would like a copy of the file I am happy to share, FOC of course.
