Just put the engine back in my 2015 3W after a clutch change. It's been stood in the garage with no battery for around 4 months but I have added more fresh fuel than was left in the tank - so I don't THINK ts fuel.

It appears to be consistent.. Runs for around 1 min and then slows slightly then coughs, splutters and quits. If you start it again it runs for around 20 seconds and does the same - so appears to be heat related. Done 50,000 miles with all the usual mods including a new fuel pump at 20,000 miles, drive coupling upgraded etc etc

https://youtu.be/l15L0_i_2HE

So far I have checked and changed:
Crank sensor
Coil pack
Ignition leads
Fuel pressure (52PSI and steady)
No errors in the ECU
Does the same without the air cleaner
The cam belt hasn't been touched.
I have heated the ECU before I start it and it doesn't make any difference. It was a bit colder this morning and it ran a bit longer so its def temp related. It has been suggested it might be the inlet manifold seals which I will change next.

Just throwing it out there for any ideas.. Failing that its going on eBay CHEAP

Many thanks

Dave

does sound like a fuel issue.... could you have partially clogged lines? If they are partially clogged pressure will read fine before you turn the engine, but the actual gas to the engine will not be sufficient to keep it running.

you might add your whereabouts

Is the fuel pressure you measured with the engine running ?

99.9% fuel pump.

It can show 54 psi static but when you run the engine it drops rapidly and the engine comes to a stop.

It stays at 54PSI all the time - doesn't ever appear to drop. I have a spare once - so I might try that and the filter - which regulates the fuel pressure on the return

Try running the car with the S&S Protune software running , and watch the display as it stutters and stops. You never know !
Hope this helps !

Did you check the crank sensor or you changed it for a new one. I had the same symptoms and only a new crank sensor solved it. The fault was intermittent.

I thought the fuel pressure was supposed to be 58psi running.

Can you get it moving and running under load in the minute it is running? Just wondering what it does under load or if it can reach higher RPMs... To me it looks/sounds like a cold idle issue that would show up watching ProTune I think... My .02 anyway. If the inlet manifold seals were going, and mine went, you would get a code because the ECU could detect there was too much air in the combustion chamber. And you have no codes.

Correct, my mistake in my earlier post the fuel pressure should be 58psi before the engine start and also with it running.

Dave, if your fuel pressure gauge is accurate then 52 psi is too low which again points to the fuelpump. I would say change the pump anyway as you have a spare.
