I am told that UK production will significantly be reduced once models are exported to the USA in June. This will undoubtably reduce the backlog of unsold cars.

I thought that the imported numbers to USA was of a very limited nature though unless things have changed post Roadster imports in kit form..

This absolutely doesn't apply to all of the CX cars for sale, but some I've seen, especially at the cheaper end, do appear to be ex Morgan Hire Cars or ex Press cars. These aren't always sold through Morgan so it suggests some dealerships may have acquired these at a much reduced price given the likely margins.

.....some I've seen, especially at the cheaper end, do appear to be ex Morgan Hire Cars or ex Press cars. Is that the reason why, for example, this one https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13071891 is described as "ex- Morgan Factory car" ? I was never sure what that description meant -- so is it intended as a coded warning to prospective buyers that it's been generally thrashed ? (and the headline price in the ad is now £2K less than in the body of the write-up). ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/02/24/Plus-Four-at-MMC-Feb-2023.md.jpeg)

Suffice to say that any braking or radiator issues will have been well tested so purchasing one will be a bit of a curates egg situation..

purchasing one will be a bit of a curates egg situation.. Oh well, suitably forewarned. I was just curious anyhow.

I drove that over a year ago. Loved it! But I'd have to move house for a wider driveway and somewhere much smaller to pay for the car

But I'd have to move house for a wider driveway and somewhere much smaller to pay for the car Every time Mrs Cooperlady presses her nose against an estate agents window looking to downsize, I shout, "don't bother unless it's a very small house with at least 4 garages"

I know that the risk of a doom spiral is quite high, but...........
Not only are there a lot of CX cars for sale, there also seems to be a hell of a lot of trads for sale as well, many have been sat with dealers for months and months. I think that dealers do try to build up a bit of stock in anticipation of the spring/summer 'rush', but some have 25+ cars in stock, with probably 4 to 6 CX cars in that number. I would guess that a lot of cars are on SOR, it would surely be beyond the financial resources of most Morgan dealers to 'own' them all. The cost of the CX cars soon pushes the value of cars in stock well over 7 figures, and nothing seems to be moving...!
In the 'old days', when the most expensive car in the range was £70k ish it made up a small percentage of the total sales with the bulk of sales being more 'affordable' 4/4's and +4's. Spec of cars remained unchanged for decades, people knew they were buying an already old fashioned and outdated car, but they were happy with that, and they were also happy to wait, sometimes for years for it. They knew it would leak, creak and rattle, but they were happy with that.
Now, with the starting price being well over £70k it would seem inevitable that sales will dramatically fall off. Where or who is the market? The US?
MY updates like 'real' car manufacturers, changes of spec, new tech and 'modern' features all cause quality issues for the hand building work force in Malvern. When prices are pushing towards, and in some cases past, £100k there can be no excuses. I was fortunate enough to go to the Porsche experience center at Silverstone again yesterday. When you see the what £70 to £100k will buy you from Stuttgart you've got to question the direction that MMC are going.

Let's see how long the £111K Plus Six at Rutter's takes to shift https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14633671 And that's with half-leather seats (but hey, you do get a cup holder). ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/02/24/Plus-Six-at-Rutters-Feb-2023.md.jpeg)
