Has anybody used / recommend a solar powered battery trickle charger ?
Are they any good ?
I've just installed a new battery in my M3W but my garage has no mains power and was looking at ways to maintain charge when not in use.
I've looked online and they seem simple enough to set up and plug directly into 12v supply.

I've used one in each of our tin-tops for some time and they seem to do what it says on the tin. Both were purchased through the AA and they plug into the OBD socket.

Neighbour of mine uses one in his SUV that is rarely used nowadays due to ULEZ. Leaves in the windscreen , and it appears to stop the continual parasitic drain that is typical of modern vehicles . It starts first time , even after a 2 month layoff.
