I'm with you on that one Jon! thumbs grin2

A good friend of ours bought a semi in Watford with such a big back garden that he was able to build a nine car garage/workshop, making the existing garage a drive through. Sadly he died young from Type A diabetes, but a lovely bloke and utter car nut.

Over the road there is a house with a double garage, two car spaces on the drive, and one of the garages is drive through to a hard standing at the rear. That row of houses also have excessively long gardens by todays standards.

I have plenty of off road space with a double garage but it's all very narrow and tight.

Getting back on thread:

We should take into account the inflation there has been on new car prices in recent years.

- Honda Civic Type R is £47k with very few extras and there are several on Autotrader for £54k +
- A fairly basic Toyota RAV 4 is £35k
- Mercedes CLA = £37k
- Boxster = £60k ish

A hand built, low volume car that starts at £75k seems like a bargain to me, especially when all the 2023 L-R Discoveries on Autotrader are in excess of £80k. I don't think Morgan have it wrong. I think we may have lost touch with the pricing in the car market.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, Paul.

Yes it's a chunk of change, but when you think of it as a hand built brand new resto-mod, it starts to look like a bargain.

Now this may be a step in a different direction from what Morgan used to be, but by virtue of having changed what they are so little for the last decades, they've landed themselves in a place where they now sell a sub 100k brand new resto-mod. Have a look around at other restored, modified, updated classics and tell me if you see anything remotely in this price range. By my count you're looking to pay 2-5 times as much for those offerings...

You may be right Paul. Given there is virtually no waiting list and a good supply on offer through the secondhand market at discount prices this may be an excellent long-term opportunity......

I principal I agree BUT in reality they don't start at £75k new

I spec'd up some at Christmas when bored, kept the extras low so I could tweak post delivery, the P4 came to £89k and the P6 £106k excluding on the road cost & lux car first reg fee ££

Back on the topic!
I paid GBP78,465.00 (GBP90,258.00 including VAT) for our Plus Six launch model in 2019. It is now 3 years old. Given safety bags, traction control etc that the NZ government requires that Morgan have fitted to the 2023 Plus Six AND the raging inflation in the UK the GBP 110,000 that MR are asking for a new Plus Six then it sounds like a fair price.

We had saw the plus 6 at the Geneve motor show , i find the car very attractive and ask for more informations at my dealer . The price was 94000 euros with the hardtop and only two colors available .
After reflexion i did not buy the car because the taxes would add 5000 euros ,and the annual taxes would be around 2000 euros. Then two years later in the middle of the covid and before the brexit
i had to pay 94000 euros for a plus four ( hard top not available for the plus four) . In conclusion more you wait more you have to pay . And for me more than 100000 euros was a no go.
