Hi guys,
I am planning an oil change on my 1992 4/4 1.6 xr3i engine Morgan.
My question is what oil filter should I be using.
I thought it would be a standard Ford filter but when looking for one on the internet the filter that I saw for the cvh was 1985 to 1991 which is a year before my car.
Was there a change in 1992 that I am unaware of?
Burton Power list the same oil filter for all models:" FORD OIL FILTER X/FLOW OHV KENT, CVH, LOTUS TWIN CAM, BDA, ZETEC SE/SIGMA, ECOBOOST & VALENCIA/HCS EFL500"
So presumably nothing changed.
Which oil filter have you used?
Thanks in advance for what seems a silly question.

I had a ‘93 cvh efi same as you. I’ll check if I still have the details you need. I did send a copy of the handbook to Gomog to be made available on there. I’ll look at it to see if there is a part number. I think I bought one from Halfords back then but they have changed their stock numbers since then.
Just checked gomog....no oil filter part number in there.
Here’s a link....

Assuming it is a screw on type, why not simply note the details of the existing one? There are then plenty of cross reference tables online to get an alternative manufacturer’s equivalent.

I use a Mann W712 in my Elan (Kent bottom end) from the local motorfactors. It's quite short but I change it, and the oil, every year, 3 to 5K miles.
Cheers

Thanks guys.
I was having a Homer Simpson moment when asking the filter to get.
It was a case of being blinded by information from the internet when the solution was as easy as Deejay said.
Go in the garage and look what is fitted now! DOH.
I did and it was just as John 07 said a Mann W712/43.
Purchased from Halfords for under a fiver.
Thanks every one who responded.
