Ok, maybe it’ll have to be a little bit cheaper, in which case a Pembleton, MX5, or possibly a Toyota Supra GR 3.0 Pro.

A pal of mine has a Fiat 124 .... although they share a lot, there are quite a few differences from the MX5 that serve to give it a different 'flavour' (or so he tells me)

If it didn't have to be 'showroom fresh' then an AC Ace Bristol

I like the look of triumph stags, but I wouldn’t own one unless I wanted to be a mechanic

Craig, I have one that I bought new in 2016 (as well as the Roadster), as the ride suits my wife better. Contrary to other posts on TM, it is not the same as the MX-5 in many detail respects. And IMHO drives better than any MX-5 I have ever driven.

Have had a few MX5’s - and unlike a car I could mention - they never “stretch/break/bend/snap or mysteriously fail to start”.

Cheers

Thanks Craig, the blue/tan combo was in the original Fiat promotional materal and I fell in love. The build quality is excellent, and the paint is as good or better than my Roadster. I wax it once a year then use quick detailer.

An early MGB, very affordable when compared to a morgan, even a fully restored, better than new, rebuilt into a new shell car, is sub £20k.
Or
A 981 boxster. More money but everything you could ever need in a sports car.........
Or
A 911, 991 generation. perfect.

My neighbour has an MX5, the only car I’ve been in that’s more cramped than the Morgan! That said I do like the look of the Fiat 124.

I've still got my 1970 Elan, oh what fun it is to drive.
Cheers
John.
