Scott66 contacted me because he'd seen that I have a Williams Umbrella holder fitted to my Mog, he was enquiring if I'd had any problems with the cap vibrating loose as he has, the answer is yes ....twice!
When I lost the first one Williams kindly sent me a free replacement but unfortunately I heard that one come off within yards of leaving home the first time I drove the car with it fitted, by the time I was able to stop and retrieve it the cap had been run over multliple times and was badly flattened. Williams didn't offer another replacement so I bought one and considered how I could make sure it stayed in place. I drilled a hole through the tube and tapped a thread into the side of the cap which is now held securely in place by a knurled head bolt, this means that it easily removeable without any tools.
Scott suggested I put this on Talkmorgan in case anyone else has had a similar problem or is considering buying one. Williams have told Scott that the manufacturer is going to re-design the holder but haven't given an indication of when or how.
If anyone wants some photos or details of the knurled bolt I used just let me know.

I'm a cheap skate, went to the hardware store bought a length of black PVC pipe with a fixed end cap and a screw on cap for the other end along with two screw clamps and attached the finished product to the luggage rack. $32 priceless for everything else Mastercard.

Even more of a cheap skate here.
Our Morgan umbrella is kept behind the seats.
Unfortunately, the factory shop umbrella is slightly too long to lie straight across in our trusty 4/4.
Solution?
Surgery to the umbrella to shorten it by about an inch.

I'm not waiting for Williams to re-design as Steve said they gave no indication of timeframe. Instead Im copying Steve's ingenious knurled head bolt fix. If I can sort out how to, I'll post photo's of this process as I do it....... thats assuming I don't mess up.
If there are no further comments by me on this subject in the next few days, it means I've damaged the beautiful umbrella holder and have gone down the britmog line and got some PVC pipe.

How about a few turns of PTFE plumbers tape on the male threads to 'tighten' the cap fit ?

Same here, though usually it is left in the boot of the commutacar/shopping trolley.

Mine sits in a pouch on my golf club bag! I put the bag in the passenger side footwell/seat. Trolley strapped to the luggage rack. Shoes, trolley battery, clothes change on rear shelf.
If golf clubs not needed the brolly either goes in the footwell or across the shelf behind the seats but is a tight fit across there.

On the shelf behind the seats. Works fine till the Hills Alive luggage is in there. Then it sits on top of the bags, though there is still space behind the bags
