Hi all
Being new to Morgan I'm not at all sure exactly where the jacking points are in the event of a puncture out on the road.
My manual has descriptions but no pictures. Could anyone point me to a set of pictures to help me out?
I'm very grateful.
Car is a 2012 4/4 75th anniversary.
Many thanks
Mark

The jack supplied is not very good. If you have Morgan insurance via Gott & wynne you get Morgan recovery. I would test the jack & ensure it is greased properly.

I don't have Morgan insurance but I do have recovery. Do you recommend I use it in the event of a puncture, or invest in a better jack? Thanks for your advice. I follow your mechanical posts with interest... Cheers Mark

I've been meaning to pick up a Porsche jack for mine .... scissor jack but made of alloy .... saves carrying round a not very well made heavy steel one. They seem to be about second hand at not too silly prices.

I'm sorry Rich I somehow managed to miss your post! Thank you very much indeed. Cheers Mark p.s. I do hope actually to drive it this year. I bought it last summer and did about 200 miles I think...

No worries Mark, as long as you get a few answers on here for you to choose from, we're all here to help with Morganeering. Good luck getting a few more miles in this year. p.s. In 19 years of Morgans I've never been let down with a puncture over the three different cars.

Jacking was a bit precarious outside the hotel we were staying at as the front was thick shingle. For the very rare occasions it's needed whilst away from home I would deem it just adequate. I would have a trial run to give it some exercise having greased it as John V6 suggests.

The scissor jack has a relatively small base. On anything except a solid flat surface there is a possible toppling hazard. Soft ground, uneven, hardcore, gravel etc..One answer is to carry a small but solid plate to rest it on and spread the load. Aluminium 10mm+ thick should be ok and easily stow able.

THe jack wasn't much use but the "person" who drove into me in brod daylight drove me the 1 1/2 mles or so to get my trolley jack. Worst case use the tool box lid to spread the load.
