What a resource TM is. I went to take my M3W out a month back after it had been laid up for a couple of months. Just before i hit the button, i remembered reading posts re "wet sumping". Sure enough there was much less oil in the tank than i expected. Ran through the process as suggested on here and oil returned to the tank. ££££££s saved. Thank you to those that shared their knowledge and experience.
A couple of weeks back, a crashed M3W was advertised here. There is a guy in the US who has suffered two crank failures whilst under warranty and has been abandoned by Morgan. Surprisingly he his not on here so i put him in touch with the seller and the deal has been done. He will soon be back on the highway.
To the Morganistas out there sharing issues is not moaning. It is helping.
I am reminded that i must make a financial contribution to the running of this resource.

Looks like nothing has changed with the level of Morgan support of their product....

Looks like nothing has changed with the level of Morgan support of their product.... And I doubt the MMC corporate attitude will ever change. I would love to see what the Japanese would produce if they were given a V-Twin to have on the front end and everything else in the drive train was up to them. I bet whatever they produced would be way more reliable.
The light at the end of the tunnel is actually a train. 2019 M3W

Which process did you go through to return the oil, as I've seen a few suggested.

This method will probably work, but does run the risk of blowing the crank and/or pinion seals as well as spewing oil into the air filter. A safer method is to drain the oil into a clean container via the sump plug and then pour it into the oil tank.

Just checked and lost plenty out of the tank again after just 3 weeks.

On older British motorcycles some owners used to fit a stop tap at the oil tank outlet which was closed manually after the engine had been stopped. It works, of course, but the consequences of forgetting to open it don't bear thinking about. There was also an anti-drain valve fitted to Norton Commandos and others which allegedly stopped the oil tank draining out. This was totally automatic and hence foolproof. There may be a proprietary item available in the Harley Davidson aftermarket. The other alternative is to start your engine more frequently.

Just read through the earlier threads which also mentioned taps etc. Maybe over worrying. Nothing is leaking or blowing out. Thanks for all advice
