Agreed, I worry most that the lack of information is a bad sign.
That was behind my comment further up. Same article re-hashed with no additional comment when the BBC news should have something given the program is aired on Auntie.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I don't know where the idea of stunts appeared from but my understanding was that he was testing a Super 3 NOT attempting a ground loop or any other stunts in it....
The paucity of information from Auntie shouts subjudacy and legal processes pending.
As far as the other media reporting goes - when they have nothing to go on they transmit nothing based on facts but their own speculation, as the Beeb is in a league of own doing this it just amplifies to me is that Houston we have a problem..

Until we know the full circumstances we can only speculate. The “Star in a car” lap time series saw some interesting misadventures . Not a stunt but pushing the limits definitely. The media these days seem eager to post clickbait and many reports are utter rubbish. Little or no verification of facts.

According to Channel 5 News last Friday evening, FF was driving "a racing car like this" and showed a stock photo of what appeared to be a German-registered M3W....

As Sospan wrote: Until we know the full circumstances we can only speculate. The picture of a "similar vehicle" only means that it was probably a three-wheeled vehicle (JZR?. Supersport? M3W? ...) All just speculation.

Why is this coming up now given it happened in February? Because the BBC has just taken the decision to halt production of Top Gear. The media seem to have picked up on this and blown the story up. The crash happened last December but curiously the papers didn't make much of it back then. Ignoring all the media hype the only quotes I can find online from primary sources are: - "Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning - with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course." BBC (13 Dec 22)
- "We've completed our enquiries into this incident and will not be investigating further." - Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
- "Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34."
"We have sincerely apologised to Freddie and will continue to support him with his recovery." "We understand this will be disappointing for fans, but it is the right thing to do, and we'll make a judgement about how best to continue later this year." BBC (25 Mar 23)
Nothing else reported over this weekend, such as Freddie's injuries, that he has quit the show, Top Gear is cancelled or even that he was in a Morgan Super 3, has any corroboration that I can find.

None of the usual hysteria: it's an unusual display of restraint by our Press, isn't it.
& so very welcome.
