In preparation for changing the rear differential oil I was under the car but the drain plug isn’t obvious. There are a ring of bolts which I assume bolt on the diff cover so wondering if the bottom one acts as a drain plug?
Would anyone know what the axle type is also?
Thanks.

Just looking through some pics of my 2016. 4/4, and I can’t see any drain plugs either ? Perhaps mine was pumped out, in last picture here 2 years ago at Williams. I’m sure someone will be along soon with the answer ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/05/835D2E55-DEA6-4C36-B14D-AF629D9EE62D.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/05/2808E9AF-BCBE-4795-9757-6471BC196067.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/05/E7CD8426-4422-4C3F-A483-030ACD597C19.jpeg)

Thanks. Yes, bottom one is drain plug (NON'T drain it yet) Make sure you can get to the filler plug, it's about half way up the rear cover, depending on the age some use a large AF spanner (or good adjustable) some use a sort of recessed allen key hex socket, make sure you can access and loosen the filler BEFORE draining, or you'll end up with an empty diff & be stuck at home

On my 2009 4/4 the bottom bolt is the drain plug. It looks just like all the others around the diff cover plate but it doubles as a drain plug. To refill I pumped it up into the fill hole. i don't have a photo I'm afraid but there is a good illustration on https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/btr.html#FillingGood luck

Many thanks chaps for confirming and yes I’ll be sure to loosen the fill plug before draining the oil.

What's the service interval for this? Mine is a 16 plate and serviced every year at a mains dealer. I don't ever recall being asked/told to change the diff fluid.
Thanks!
