+_1 on raising the front of the car a bit when draining, then lowering again for filling. If you do not then you likely end up with oil on the topside of the center tunnel cover, only to have it drip later causing anxiety about what has failed now ooo

Does anyone have any advice on getting the fill plug out? Mine won't budge.

I've got a wrench extender on order to get some more leverage on it, hopefully that will help.

Tap it gently with a small hammer then attempt it. Last option for me was using a small torch to heat it up locally then try.
Good Luck!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Michael - thanks for your suggestions. Tapping it did not help, and when I used the wrench extender all that happened was the jaws on my 10mm wrench opened up enough to allow the wrench to turn!

For the benefit of the next person to hit this problem, I finally got it off by buying an extra long ratchet wrench and some low profile hex drivers. This combination can (just) reach up into that super confined space, and gave me enough leverage to get the filler plug off.

My three wheeler is now happily freshly lubricated, and simply purring along.

Having the right tool always helps and the user is less likely to damage anything else.

I read once that a 50%mixture of ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and acetone will loosen up bolts.
