Very pleased to read that the driver is uninjured. That road is not far from me, it is mostly straight N/S with some sections overhung with trees. There is a 60mph limit on most of it: although it runs through the New Forest it is fenced, so animals should not be a problem. So I think the Police analysis of driver error is probably correct. How could the driver make a major direction input sufficient to run off the road? My guess would be pulling out to overtake and swerving back in when realising an overtake wasn't an option. Early Aeros had no airbags, as the photo makes clear: Series 4s do! Is it a write off? Possibly not, the O/S front wheel looks to be in the right place, the N/S isn't visible. If the two beams that run from the tub to the front suspension are not bent then it should be repairable.

If it is the same car it has two badges on the wings had 5 or 6 owners for sale in Richard thorne in 2012. Owned slightly later bye morgan sports car club Chairman. It then went back to Williams and was sold I think twice.Originally started life in Scotland and was indeed specced buy a Ferrari fan, Spoken to many of the owners and was a minter in 2012 it also had cruise control which is quite rare on a series1 from memory.

That road runs from Cadnam to Brockenhurst through/round Lyndhurst, it looks like the section from Lyndhurst to Cadnam. I was travelling in that area yesterday afternoon, mostly dry roads but with some sudden heavy showers. Gosh! that looks nasty - hope everyone was OK
That Aero looks familiar as I have only ever seen one in red with the tan interior.
I spoke with the owner a few years back when were at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb for the Morgan event.
He reckoned the original owner was a big Ferrari fan and had used the classic red/tan colour combo in homage and that all the cars in his collection were in that scheme ...?!
If it is the same one, I think it has had a number of owners since then.....
Does anyone have any more info. ?
James Think you're right and may be the ex-Andy J (now a plus 6 owner) car which I had a chance to buy back in 2021 and was part ex'ed at Williams. Good to know new owners lived to tell the tale (and maybe new owner unaware of the torque / power/ weight ratio to right foot).

I was one of the previous owners of this S1 Aero. A fantastic drivers machine in the dry, and demanded full respect in the wet. Sad to see it like this, although good to see no injuries. This car has no driver aids, although I’m glad to say I fitted it with new P zero’s shortly before I traded it.

These cars have zero driving aids, lots of power/torque and are pretty lightweight - they can bite back in an instant if you get it even slightly wrong. ( n.b. I may have some experience of this phenomenon..... ) - anyway, just glad that all involved are OK James

There's something odd about the photo of the recovery. I can't establish exactly where/when the accident occurred, but that road runs due North-South. Judging by the shortish shadows the accident could have occured late morning or early early afternoon ? (allowing for time to get the recovery truck in place). If it was morning, then the photographer would need to be facing north for the shadows to be extending beyond the offside of the car. The car is on the wrong side of the road, so it would have spun for it to end up pointing south. If it was afternoon (which is more likely, as the original tweet was at 6:20pm), then the photographer would need to be facing south, and the car could have been going south and spun, or could have crossed the carriageway ? (Turn the photo upside down and it may make more sense....). It's a very busy road, so either way it's all the more remarkable that no other vehicles were involved or injuries. OR MAYBE I JUST FAILED MY SCOUTS ORIENTEERING EXAM BIG TIME..... ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/04/11/Cadnam-to-Brockenhurst.jpeg)
