Hi crudo......what exactly is happening with your gauges? It might be down to a loose connector at the back of the instrument cluster.

Need to know what is happening, but I suspect a faulty earth at the back of the dash if it's not just one gauge that is playing up.

All the instrument earths are taken to a single point behind the dash (or they used to be on older cars).

Cheers,

If the speedo stops working the engine light comes on ( the computer monitors road speed) an easy fix for the dealer, the faulty part is usually the pick up on the prop shaft

My fuel gauge sometimes sticks, which can be a problem if I am on a long journey and don't notice that it has'nt moved. Solution is to turn off the ignition and start the car again. The gauge wakes up and normality resumes.

I had a similar problem with the oil pressure gauge, but I have only noticed it once.
I don't know what causes this, but I don't think it has anything to do with the earth. More likely to do with the quality of the individual gauges and condensation build up inside the gauge.

Had the same on my 4/4 sport. The fuel gauge sometimes stick, I was told that was due to the positioning/shape of the fuel tank and because of this the fuel tank float does not work properly untill it reaches a certain point in the fuel tank.
(quote from the dealer"It's a Morgan")
Concerning the oil pressure gauge, it's a known problem and when I was at the factory this was resolved ,i.e in the fuse box something was taken out and replaced by Mark Baldwin( can't tell you exactly what it was ,as I was visiting the factory at that time)

Dear all,
the speedo work only for few miles then STOP. I have moved the pick up closer to the prop shaft, but nothing change. So the engine light is on because the speedo do not work?
Buahhahaa I hate electronic gauges!
There is an Ecu which control the gauges? I'll take a look in the back of the gauges.
Thank you all

Well....at least getting the dash out is easy compared to modern cars! Good luck crudo!

Looks like a warranty job, if the speedo pick up has been hit by the rotating ring on the prop it will need replacing

Is it a new car?
My new (2011) 4/4 sport did the same thing, I took it to the dealer who checked it out and found the speedo was faulty, so they fitted a new speedo.
