On my way to the dealer in The Netherlands for a 1500 km inspection, and some additions to be installed, as a 12 V plug for my Tripmaster (only USB on my PlusFour), a magnetic trickle charger connector for a CTEK and protective film fitted to the wing surfaces adjacent to the doors and part of the rear wings.

However..., on my way to the dealer on a normal dual carriage way, something (sharp stone?) did hit the inner right front wing (offset) with a mark (inside-out) and paint damage as a result. I only noticed this when we discussed the Plusfour, its beauty, fun to drive and the beautiful Bentley Midnight Emerald color. And then we both saw it, at the same time....! On this brand new car! My mood changed a bit from euphoric to depressed. As it was at the dealer, an appointment was arranged with a professional repair shop working for them, so it should be sorted out next monday. Fingers crossed they make it invisible, but they work for all their brands, so apart from Morgans, McLarens, Maserati's, Bentley's, Porsches etc,, so I have to be confident.🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🤞
The service advisor came with a suggestion of fitting proactive inner wings, he did notice them recently in the Morgans parts catalogue, and it's even present in the factories ordering system. So I agreed on installing them, but one day later he let me know that Morgan is not (yet?) able to supply them? So maybe something for later. Next week I will collect her again and we will give it a spin on a MSCCH event the following weekend. I drive Morgans for 27 years now, and never experienced this before. Just bad luck I assume. Does anybody knows something about this inner wings?

Sorry to hear that. I have liners on my Roadster, fitted by the previous owner in 2013. They do prevent those "inside out" dents, and are easy to clean.
Details were in Miscellany November 2012, see http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/132229/re-make-inner-wing-shields#Post132229

Sorry to read of your damage Ruut, it might be worth having a call to Morgan Park in Hamburg as they are always quick of the mark with useful quality modifications.

They are represented on here by Franky.

My trad has some kind of rubber impact protection fitted to front wings, not sure if this is a standard fit on all Morgans to avoid internal stone chips? I had no protection at the end of the rear wings though so i made up some sheet aluminium bolted to the wing stays to avoid any stone impact (similar to DW's) should be standard imo especially on CX cars

The underwing area needs protection to reduce the likelihood of impact damage from below creating bulges on top.

Mudflaps are simple enough to fit without drilling, but needs a bit of creativity in design. Use 1.2mm aluminium or circuit board as the base with a neoprene cover.

Trads of a certain age come with front underwing shielding as standard but this can dry and peel over time from the exhaust heat. I replaced my Roadster protection using Wickes pretend lead flashing. This has a grey plastic finish which looks like lead flashing on buildings, and has a black tarry adhesive backing which is at least 1mm thick. In order to heat proof this over the cats I added adhesive foil (Reflect a cool) and this has stood the test if time over several years. However, surface prep is crucial, and it's a messy and lengthy job cleaning the underwing area.

Hi Ruut
I had the same problem with our Plus Six after driving on a newly sealed road when large chips on wet tar seal flew up. Apparently the front wings on t least our 2020 Plus Six were not undersealed but the rear wings were. I've since had the fronts undersealed and no further problems.

Thanks Kerry and all others, I think the most simple and cost-effective solution is bringing some underseal at the front wings!

There are some very good products that should save outward dings from stones, when applied to the underside of wings: Raptor paint - as applied to Land Rover load beds etc. is the product I would recommend.

Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!
