Good luck with fault finding on the PCB. I had a go at one of John V6 boards, but in the end it defeated me.

That's looking good Rog, well done. I'm still contemplating how I'm going to resolve the issue I have with the fan blowing the fuse on the high setting. My fix at the moment is to try and remember not to put the fan onto the highest setting 😁 Hi Gordon. Just noticed your car being a 2014 model may be an early GDI engined one with BCU controlled heater fan motor. If so then my and Rog's previous comments don't apply. Assuming it is the later model then the fan selector switch places a ground on either a slate wire (slow) or yellow wire (fast) which in each case is sent to the BCU as a trigger. The BCU in turn then powers either a green/slate wire or green/yellow wire to heater fan motor for slow/fast respectively. You could check the green/yellow wire plus connectors for short between BCU and fan motor. If nothing sinister found then maybe just increasing fuse 11 size from 10 to 15 amp may offset a marginal condition, as this protects the fan power into BCU.

Hi Richard. Thanks for taking the time to respond, my car is the last of the Duratec models so I'm not sure what the wiring arrangement might be! I have seen behind the dashboard and from what I can remember it looks similar to the pictures Rog posted. Having read Gambalunga's thread on what seems like a similar issue I assumed it was the PCB that had failed? I'll take the dashboard off sometime and post some pictures on a new thread so as not to take over this one.

I had rear foglight issues a while back. The light was flickering on and off. I’ve never actually used the rear fog as never been in need. Checked the whole system and I narrowed it down to the pcb unit behind the dash. The circuit board was loose inside so I glued it back. Worked ok for a while. As a pre MOT check it was failing again. Tried getting a replacement. Rutters didn’t have any, asked for photos.....factory part. Nothing coming so phoned the factory. Plenty in stock. Well not really as stock was for 1997 Plus8’s or earlier only. Mine’s a 2002. Can I have one and sort the wiring? No. Really? GRRRR.
Right then, Carbuildersolutions and a couple of others tried as they supply to kitcar builders. Before ordering ( about £30 max if I remember) one last look. Spotted a couple of iffy solder joints. Re-soldered them and ok ever since.
Still never used in anger but pre MOT checks only.
