My 2011 +4 with 48k miles, also has similar…a very slight resonance/vibe at around 3000 revs, felt through steering wheel and disappears as revs increase by a couple of hundred. Feel it more than hear it. My old Triumph Trophy motorcycle also used to show a similar characteristic at about 3500 rpm, though that was a triple with balancer shaft. Nothing to worry about but as others have said, worth checking tightness and rubbing.

It might be worth checking the part number on your silencer if it’s a Morgan item. My first car had an engine vibration spot somewhere around 3K rpm. The engine was very smooth either side of this narrow rev window. Motorway driving was a pain as you had to avoid this engine speed at all cost otherwise you risked losing your fillings. Could feel it through the steering wheel and body rather than any noise. I did a lot of investigation but traced it back to a resonance in the silencer. It was the straight through silencer part number MEX 1107. I swapped it for the baffled version MEX 1105 and the resonance was gone. ![[Linked Image]](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/6hxh5z31sl81s8m/silencer3.jpg)

Thanks Deejay, you've actually described it better than my original post. "You feel it more than hear it." I want to buy some two eared spinners from Brands Hatch Morgan, so I might ask if someone with experience would take it for a quick spin up Wrotham hill. I'd prefer a more considered opinion over my own.
+ With the SSL suspension, whilst I can't make an objective comparison, (the car has very little body roll,) imo it has more understeer than I would expect. These questions are really for someone with Morgan experience. It's not my BMW, but neither do I want it to be.
However, I accept the car for its eccentricities, and its the best fun and drive I've had in a long time. It will be a keeper.

Cheers Rog,
Brilliant, I'll do that. What a useful knowledge base forums are.
Can you see the numbers with the exhaust on the car, or will I need to remove it? Apologies, I would go and look only the car is back in storage.

Thanks Richard, I'll check first to make sure which silencer is currently fitted. I'm also thinking of changing the manifold, so I'll take a pause and figure out a plan. This manifold from Berrybrook might work. I just need to confirm it will connect into the exhaust system with MEX1105. https://www.berrybrookmorgan.co.uk/product/plus-4-duratec-manifold-and-cat-2006-on/Also considering calling Fusion Fabrications and replicating the set up by Montegue.

Here's a picture of the complete system I removed Stephen. As you can see flared fitting front, cat end, plain fitting rear. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/v9KzdCP.jpg)

The silencer on my 2011 +4 is MEX1107. That came with the car when new and from what has been said, it is the straight thro’ version. The identifying number plate was on the front, facing towards the road, so easy to read.
