All Zetec owners.
My car sprung a big leak some weeks ago. It came from underneath the cambelt cover, so I suspected the water pump.
I gave up and had my Morgan expert investigate the problem.
It was a frost plug located on the front of the engine, behind the timing belt.
Sorry I have no pictures but it was pitting corrosion in the frost plug. Two small holes.
This probably explains the scent of coolant the last years, without me being able to find the leakage point.
I also had a very slow loss of coolant fluid.
Now the fluid level remains the same and no smell of coolant.
So, for those of you struggling to identify a leakage, the frost plugs may be causing it.
