Drove the 26 Yr old Plus 8 to the south of Spain from Cumbria in England. Now have dodgy starter/solenoid so came on here to see if there were tips on removal to send off for refurbishment.

Jump the solenoid across the terminals with a big screwdriver .... the locals will already think you're odd driving a Morgan so you're just conforming by starting the car with a big shower of sparks every time!! .... 😁

Sorry can't be actually helpful but my Mog's older with a different engine .... good luck

Today we made a trip to the river Elbe to see the swedish vessel "Götheborg of Sweden" which came up the river to Hamburg.

Very impressiv to see such a large wooden ship.

The wind came from east/ down the river so unfortunately no sails...

Nice little breakfast run this morning - haven't driven her for a couple of weeks due to busy weekends and getting the MG. Brought home how much better she is than the MG - accelerates better, steers better, handles better and stops much much better. I'll get there with the MG, but quite a way to go. Brakes will be the first priority........

Up at 3.45, on the road at 4.30. Arrived Fort Augustus just after 1.30. Epic Roadster drive on mostly clear roads.

Dropped off a sump at Doune, where the TR Register appeared to be holding a hill climb.

Glen Coe was stupid busy in the car parks. People were just parking wherever, and blocking others in. Utterly stupid, plus coaches blocking access. Thankfully few were blocking the road because that's a fantastic Morgan drive.

It's the Doune Classic run by Lothian Car Club I believe .... the TRs are having a weekend there.

Let us know how your tour goes.

K

Ps ... there were indeed a number of TRs there!! .... and a rather lovely SE4 coupe
