I think they do just fine.
A couple of kids make some stupid decisions and end up paying the tragic price. Nothing to blame the police for. The kids could have stopped at any point, but they decided to carry on and have a bit of fun at the expense of the coppers. It backfired..
And as a result, bunch of cretins decide to set fire to next doors car.

This pretty much in a nutshell. Presumably it would be acceptable to the naysayers if the police stood by and did bugger all whilst these kids ‘just having a bit of fun’ mowed down someones kid or elderly relative whilst illegally tear arsing around? Yes it’s sad but as has been said, they could have stopped at any time. But of course it will be everybody else’s fault. And then social media whips the morons into a frenzy.

Young men will always take risks. Some will push it too far and pay the consequences, their genes are then taken out of the evolutionary gene pool.
The police will never be able to please all the people all of the time.
Sometimes very difficult decisions have to be made in a split second. The vast majority of the population will never be in the position of life or death choices that affect themselves and others.
The press always want to persecute someone it's the current trend.
I'm not a fan of the press................!

I worked in that area of Cardiff for many years and remember very vividly the riots also there in the early 90’s. Always deprivation and no jobs blamed as the catalyst, but considering there is plenty of work opportunities in the city area with excellent transport facilities. Blaming the Police is just an excuse to riot and I have no sympathy with the public.
