Good point !
Also, when the car is 'inside' over the winter or long periods, I put the roof on the frames but don't fasten it down fully so the hood is not under any tension. If your hood frame has swivel pivots it will be even easier for you to take the tension out of the hood when the car is tucked up in the garage.

Swivel pivots are a godsend for Everflex hoods.
Mine is on permanently in winter but only used in a downpour.
It can be folded fairly tidily when down but put up when garaged to hold the shape. Phil at Allon Whites advised beeswax on the seams to maintain wtarproof level.

My dealer is not too keen on the swivels...he thinks the over centre action can put too much pressure on the top rail leading to risk of screen fractures. He was watching me put up my hood and reckoned the top of the screen moved back a 1/4 inch or so!

Mark at the factory told me it is best to fasten the front with the rear studs not fastened and then fasten the rear studs.

That's the only way I can fit mine!

I have a pair of hood swivels to fit, but they are designed for the newer cars which had a longer mounting bracket.
I think I will have to remove some foam from the bench seat backrest to accomodate the ball end of the swivels too, otherwise there may be excessive sideways force trying to pull the bracket from the car body.

Cheers,

The Everflex hood folds up easy enough to avoid creasing the windows...one advantage it has in being fully dismountable from the car!

Is the rear window in the Easy Up hood made of a different material? I assume that it folds in half when the hood is stored.
