I don't deny that they're great looking things, and after reading all the posts I feel I'm must be missing out not owning one.......BUT.....what on earth are you all making on them....???
Show some pictures of something you've 'lathed'......😁 Here's something I turned. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/10/12/DSC03834rs.md.jpg) Cheers John.

Myfords are capable lathes and spare parts are readily available. I opted for a Boxford lathe as it has a greater turning capacity and don't command the high prices that some people ask for a Myford

I do like the grey Myfords. I did think about stripping mine and painting it black. I think black would look super cool. Then I realised its a lot of work so quickly dismissed the notion

That’s a nice spacious set up you have, I’m rather tight for space in my garage/workshop. I wonder if I could ask about the Myford footprint, ie how much bench space does it take up, particularly how deep is it?
Thanks. Gary Left to right 45 inches - you will need further room to use and take off the tailstock. You will also need further space at the headstock end to open the belt and gear change doors Front to back - 25 inches Up and down - On Myford stand 56 inches Buy a good one and the price will soon be forgotten. And like Morgans, they hold their value. Buy something Chinese and you will get nowt back for it :-)
