I started a new job as a maintenance engineer at a small electronics firm a while ago. This bag of nails is what Ive got to work with ! Believe or not this is in its cleaned up state. The chap I took over from left it in a right old state, with inches of swarf left all over it. The mill was the same.
Julian .... a repeat from my album about my resto ...... CAD design to 3D print to mould made to metal cast blank to finished oil cap turned down on the lathe .... all that because the original Ford plastic one on my crossflow was so hideously ugly that I couldn't bear to put it back on the car🙂
Have turned a number of other bits for the rebuild ... as I said, I don't do much serious precision work but the old Myford is indispensible for bushes and spacers and the like.

Magnificent work...

Bonsie, the wheels are Image 3 piece billet wheels 8x16.
I got them because I was concerned that my original wheels are 40yrs old and I understand they are made of magnesium alloy (according to a few marque books) and these could have a problem with age related cracking.
I don't have a Myford, but do have Chinese lathe which I got for the princely sum of nothing at all. Here's a little something that I made on it recently...
Hopefully the link works, I'm stuck behind a corporate firewall with some strange and very inconsistent restrictions.

Lovely, you just need to make a bigger one if the SS on the 5 Speeder fails
