I have a Max for three years now and it has been a joy......after a number of irritating teething problems
Most of the issues I faced are very similar to the Aero 8, such as tyre pressure indicator, aircon fan, water ingress in doors that open windows, exhaust brackets etc...
The only specific to the Max were related to the rear windows which were glued using improper glue and flew off on the motorway during a sunny and warm day, and later let some water in, that short circuited the tail lights and open the windows under heavy rain.
Now sorted by putting a few spacers under the latches, changing the rubber joints and using proper sikaflex
Mine is fitted with an autobox that suits the car very well
Maintenance has been reasonable over the last three years and 30.000 kilometers (One set of tyres, couple of oil changes et that is all)

you do get some attention when you drive/park/step out of it side-exhaust and the auto-box are imho boxes that need ticking

Welcome Dean.
Loiseau has covered a couple of the known issues but I'll add my 2-pence.
Later cars (in fact most) did not have the tyre pressure monitor system fitted and therefore, this probably won't be an issue for you. Whilst some people (with Aero 8s) had no issues with them, many simply couldn't get them to work correctly. Most of the 2009 Aeromaxs had the tyre pressure monitor space covered over with a Centenary badge. Some of the cars also had tweeters fitted in this space (using the clock space on the other side of the dash) and that works very well.
The rear windows did have an issue with the glue - despite cold and hot weather testing, when heated, the glue did soften and the brackets could come loose. Morgan did try a second batch of glue but I believe they still weren't happy with this; therefore, the final solution was a drilled window, with bolts attached to the bracket.
I have never had any issues with leaks on mine.
The ZF Sport auto gear box does suit the car very well and seems was the most popular at time of order (and for resale).
Rear Sport Exhaust and Side Pipe Exhaust were both optional - they offer a different sound experience, so that is worth considering. Whilst you can retro-fit side exhaust, it is very costly to reverse the decision and go back to rear exhaust (it necessitates new front wings).
Quilted leather was an optional extra.
Upgraded stereo with sub was also an option; however, the stereo in these cars is not on a par with most modern systems. I upgraded my 'Upgraded Stereo' with a better head unit and speakers and even then, it is still average. This is predominantly down to speaker size and placement. As I mentioned before, tweeters in the dash do help.
Defendal (paint protection film) was an option and does help - the Aero 8 is quite adept at collecting rock chips if you are unlucky.
I think that covers a lot of what you need to know but any other questions, just ask.
As Loiseau has said, they are a pleasure to own and I never grow tired of simply looking at it, let alone having the pleasure of driving it.

Hi and welcome!
I think the key thing is to buy on condition and not mileage.
These cars wear miles very easily - the engine and drivetrain is incredibly strong.
They are colour sensitive in terms of pricing, but in the end the key is to buy what you want - buying an Aeromax is never a practical process anyway!
As Simon and others mentioned - the rear glass issue is about the only issue that affected some cars early on. Mine is an early car, and has not had bolts fitted, but has spent time in hot and cold conditions and has been fine.
I thoroughly advocate upgrading the stereo as Simon mentioned. The popular head unit to source among owners is the Becker Mexico - if you can find one.
I'm running a tumblr blog with pictures of the Aeromax. If you're looking at a particular car / find pictures of cars for sale drop (or take any pictures in your search that you would be happy to share) then plese drop me a pm on here.
there are many owners here, and lots of useful information - this is the only community out on the web where you'll find the expertise to help in your search.

In terms of the car, it's primarily a GT, not a sports car. It is fast - and will happily dispatch --100mph in under 10 seconds. Accelleration over 100mph does tail off as the aerodynamics begin to play a larger and larger role.
I have driven mine up to a verified 156mph on track (through a laser trap) and the car felt very stable at this speed. However, every car is different, being handmade, so I would be wary in taking the car to this speed without a thorough check over, service and probably building up to this a bit at a time.
They are sensitive to tyre choice - the standard Avons that they came with are not regarded as being particularly great. There are better options, everyone has their favourites.
Other than that there is nothing really contentious about the car - it's really a case of making sure you look after it properly - regular servicing once a year is remarkably cheap so not hard to do.
It is a handmade car - so little things might niggle occasionally - but they will be small, and the advice and cameraderie here will be all you need to resolve them.

The first glue used softens under heat. Whilst not a problemn for UK based drivers, it is an issue for any body living in a country with above zero summer temperatures :-)
And the second glue tested, didn t like cold weather and shrunk when temperature dropped below 10°, and then break the window (It happned to me...)
Whilst the factory produced drilled glasses, I used Sikaflex which was carefully laid down and the galss was baked at 65°. It works perfectly for 30 months now, with some extreme driving conditions (Mont Blanc with -25° on a memorable trip to Milan, and southern Spain at 52°)
Nevertheless, I have a set of drilled glass in my garage just in case something would go wrong.
Rims are fragile and the paint may chip off the car. They can be repainted or refurbished, but at a cost
Re the sereo I use a Alpine Sytem which is handy as there is a LCD GPS foldable system and a bluetooth connection for mobile.
Works OK but the sound pipes are the only thing you want to listen to when driving the car!
Mine was controled at 273 kilometres an hour by the Gendarmes which is 175 mph. Driving it at that speed is an act of faith, as the front end becomes very light
I now run Michelin rather than the Avon but didn t notice much difference
The steering is a bit dull, even if, with a sharper set up of rake camber and toe, the car is crisper to drive. But still not ideal and as I like

Hi Loiseau - would be interested to know more about Silkaflex - I am keen to keep my car without the bolts - as one of the prototypes it would be great for me to keep it looking at though it did in it's early life.
Maybe it's already been done - I had the car in and around Bordeaux last summer in 35degree heat and it was fine.
And 175mph! Wow - that is going some!
